My god, I'm going to be poor before I turn 18...

Hey guys, [member='Aura'] here, reporting to you about the latest Pokémon news! Today, I'll be covering Pokémon on the Virtual Console for 3DS and Wii U.

First up, we have Pokémon Red, Blue and Yellow coming to the 3DS eShop. Basically anyone who hasn't been living under a rock for the past month knows about this, but I'm going to quickly recap anyway. In celebration of Pokémon's 20th Anniversary, which falls on February 27th, remastered versions of Pokémon Red, Blue and Yellow will be available for purchase on the 3DS eShop. Unlike most Virtual Console releases, these games do not have a save-point feature, which is where you can save them game at any point. This was most likely removed to prevent players from saving mid-battle and resetting if they make a wrong move. However, and this is a first for VC releases, all versions of the game will be able to connect with each other via trading, which will allow players to catch 'em all, just like they did 20 years ago.

Next up, we have Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red and Blue Rescue Teams, which have been released for the Wii U eShop. These are just simple ports of the first Mystery Dungeon titles, with Red being a bit cheaper than Blue, since Red is a GBA title and Blue is a DS title. The games cannot connect with each other through multiple consoles or having both games on one console, but the password mail system still works.

Finally, we have Pokémon Ranger coming to the Wii U eShop. Not much is known about it, but it is planned to release this Thursday in Europe. It is implied that the game will not be able to connect to the fourth-generation Pokémon titles, since the Wii U and Nintendo DS haven't been said to connect naturally, but it is still possible that this feature can be implemented, since having Pokémon Battle Revolution in a Wii U still allows connectivity to the fourth-generation Pokémon titles.

If any more Pokémon titles get announced for the Virtual Console before the month ends, you can be sure to see them here!

As always, this is [member='Aura'], signing out!

I think I'm gonna need a Wii U for my birthday. Too bad I already asked for PSMD though...

Not remastered, just ported. But it is cool to be able to play them on a big screen.

Pokémon Yellow will have to tide me over between when I finish FE Fates: Conquest this week and when I get FE Fates: Birthright for my birthday. Looking forward to all of the RPGs this year!
