Guise, I found this. I dunno if it's true or not. Apparently the legendaries are based off of Norse mythology. I think this has been mentioned, though.. ._.

That's pretty interesting :o from what I've seen on the internet, a lot of people are debating whether the games are based off Norse Mythology or genetics. The genetics part mostly because chromosomes are X and Y.
    Found this earlier:

Not as convincing as the Norse Mythology theory, but hey, who knows?

Who knows, it could be a merger of Genetics, Norse mythology, and the 3 dimensional graph..you know how the people at Pokémon like to twist and mix things up. There's alot of Pokémon out there I've noticed that have double (and sometimes triple) roots to where they come from. I mean, look at Siglyph, that's one of the weirdest ones I've ever seen.

Either way, these new games should be awesome, can't wait...I just hope there'll be a 3DS Emualtor by the time the rom comes out.

Whatever may be, I'm simply loving all of the theories that are spinning out on the ol' web. I'm down for both the genetics theory and norse mythology.

I'm down for anything as they look good and are good Pokémon in general! Either way, I never use legendary pokes in WiFi or even in my team, so no concern to me.

I have to say, when I first heard the announcement the first thing I thought was "w-wait, BW2 just came out, I'm not ready! It's too soon!" Haha!
I really like the new direction the series is taking. A 3D-esque field that still retains the pixellated style we've grown up with? It's both refreshing and familiar at the same time. I also like how the Pokes look with the cell-shaded sort of style. It's a little weird at first but I'm sure we'll come to enjoy it~
I also love the new style in general, though the one thing I'd have to be irked about is the fact that we're getting another new set of Pokémon already. It just feels so soon after Gen 5, I don't think it's necessary quite this quickly, but we'll see :)

Alas, nothing can be said until we're able to play it. And I found a ton of Pokes that I liked in Gen 5, so I'm positive that I'll find some really awesome ones in gen 6 to enjoy too! Really, it's too early to get a ton of info but I am excited about seeing what these new games have to offer. Seems like everyone feels similarly!

As far as the theories go, I'd like to imagine that a lot of different roots were considered in these games. It's really common in Japanese media for things to have double or even triple meanings with a lot of relevance. A good example I saw recently was the movie Millennium Actress that I purchased. In the movie, the woman's name is Chiyoko, which translates to "thousand generation child". See how it corresponds with the movie's title? I certainly wouldn't doubt that there's a lot of relevance to all these theories. Yet, doesn't that add to what makes Pokémon already so interesting?

Can't wait to see new info!

Does anyone else think the trainers kind of look around 10-12 years old again? ._.

When have they never looked 10-12...the only difference is that in recent games they later on look older. I'm not complaining though, I think it works, it makes me feel like a kid again, which is the real reason I keep playing.

From Masuda's new blog entry on X/Y:

This part in particular sounds really interesting. I wonder what it could mean?

Hm, so basically friendship will affect stats somehow? Or perhaps some kind of boost the longer a Pokémon is out in your party with you, like a gauge that can build as you carry it but goes away as you store it. Whatever it will be, the concept is interesting. Gives the player a reward for keeping their favorite Pokémon around.

Well, happiness has been kinda useless in the past. It's only helped for evolution, triggering some things in certain NPCs, and the moves Return and Frustration, which aren't that useful anyway, so it makes sense they'd make it more important. I wonder how this will fit in competitively, though. I can imagine people giving their Pokémon a bunch of EV berries just to make them happier.

I'm hoping they will reveal new information soon, though I've heard we won't get anymore until March. Still, that isn't a fact.

    EDIT:

I hope they bring back seals somehow! :)

I so can't wait for it to come out! It looks awesome the Pokémon look good and the battle graphics are cool too! I'm kind of wondering though what they will update and what they will leave out, like comparability with black and white 2 and such. Will they add new types? new evolutions of old pokes. how will the battle mechanics change competitive battling? and what will others think about the changes. will they adapt to it will they be against it. So many questions so little time

I'm so flubbing excited! But I'm a bit sad because the game play is different. I'm going to miss those little sprites. But the battle sequence looks epic! The legendaries look interesting and I love Chespin XD

You wouldn't be able to download it until October anyway, it's not like the past games where Japan gets their version released months earlier than everybody else. It has a worldwide release this time, in October for everybody so unless some inside source at Gamefreak has leaked a beta version or something there is no way to download it yet regardless of servers or whatever.

Yeah, well, when a rom of it is released, you can bet I'll be getting it, that is if there's ever a 3DS emulator, I have yet to find one.
