Pokémon X and Y Discussion Thread

It has been mentioned, I posted the link in the speculation thread.

But regardless, with such compelling evidence I'd be really disappointed if the games didn't follow this concept. I really like it when the Pokémon have actual significance. Until last night, I thought the Pan/Simi Pokémon were just stupid. Until, however, I read that Pansage, Pansear and Panpour represent the wise monkeys in Chinese folklore that spoke, heard, and saw no evil (respectively). Pansage is gesturing speech. Pansear is gesturing hearing. Panpour never opens its eyes. With this insight, I've come to respect them more.

I also like how the name Team Plasma is based off the types of Zekrom and Reshiram. Plasma apparently comes about when electricity is mixed with fire, and the dragons of electricity and fire were at one point together. So there's this whole significance complex when it really comes down to it, which I really want to see in gen 6.

 

Feels like ages since we have gotten any news, it's so painful waiting for news. </3

 

I'm wondering why they are waiting so long, asides to bring up hype and speculation! Weren't the Gen V updates coming quicker than this?

 

To me Gen V just came and went, first time I didn't really find out about there being a new generation until a week later. ._.

I've actually been trying to find out stuff about Pokémon X and Y, and here's what I have ouo


Sylveon or Eevee can be caught in the wild pretty early in the game.
The reason I say this is because of the parts of the trailer when it faces Froakie and Froakie faces it.
1.When it faces Froakie, that can tell us that its MOST likely a Rival battle, because no random trainer will just have a Froakie out of no where, it kind of wouldn't make sense. The only trainer that would most likely have a Froakie is your rival or an E4,(which would be very unlikely because all E4s have fully evolved Pokémon) like Flint having Infernape,
and because of the opponent being a Froakie, we can either conclude that it is the second or third rival battle, due to the playable trainer having a Sylveon so early in the game, and the rival still having its Pokémon at stage 1. So,knowing that it's the second or third rival battle, we can conclude that Sylveon can be caught early, or Eevee can, and if catching Eevee early on is the case, you'll probably be able to buy stones or find stones early on too, if Sylveon evolves from a stone. If not, then I think that to evolve into Sylveon, you'll have to evolve it a different way from the other eeveelutions, because the time thing is already taken, and why just add another rock?

2.For the part where Froakie faces Sylveon, we can either conclude that the trainer with Sylveon is your rival, which would be very unlikely due to the player having a Froakie,or it's just a random trainer battle,or we could had gotten trolled by GF by making the Froakie a level 100 to make it seem like the start of the game, but its the middle. Seeing that it is more than likely a trainer battle, this also supports that you can get Sylveon or Eevee early on in the game, by like I said, the player having a Froakie, meaning that it's early in the game.

Oh I know, although I heard a new Pokémon might be reveiled soon.

 

I wonder if i'm going to have to use 3d glasses for my eyes. The graphics for the game looks like it will hurt my eyes especially considering I only can play 3d games on my 3ds for 30 minutes before I get a headache. On another note the games looks wonderful and I can't wait to pick them up

 

You can disable the 3D and the games will still look fine. I don't think they'd make such a big game like this 3D dependent.

 

Karos Region huh? Neat. Is this an actual region in Japan somewhere? Also, I'm so glad character customization is available! Won't be too much use to me though unless I can mess with the facial expression and give my character a really wacky face.

Well I guess it's literally based on France, I mean there's the Eiffel Tower and all.

Why do people keep thinking that? It might be inspired from France, but I don't think it's based off France at all. I think people look way too deeply in to stuff too early on.

Anyways, the Pokédex for this game looks like some kind of modern touch screen, pretty neat.

We now know the following:

• The starters will start out with a move of their type, unlike previous generations.
• It's possible every single trainer has a little Vs. Graphic like the Elite Four and Champions did in previous generations.
• Chespin will learn Rollout at Level 8, Fennekin Howl at level 11, and Froakie Quick Attack at level 8 (Or earlier)
• The Pokédex will be divided in three categories.
• You'll be able to get and use different outfits for your main character.

It looks like the protagonists' names were revealed

Yvonne and Xavier.

 

Xavier is cool, I had an Arbok named Xavier once, but I don't like Yvonne... How would you pronounce that? All the ways I can think of make it a really annoying name...

 

I think it's pronounced "e-vahn" or something like that.
If you play as a boy, then the female protagonist character will be one of your rivals and her name will be Serena, if you play as a girl, the male protag's name will be Calem.

 

Yeah. They've done stuff like that before. I'm just glad we've finally gotten trainer customization. They've confirmed it to be pretty broad, so hopefully that means I'll be able to turn those generic little girls into the character I want to be playing as.

That battle screen looks really good. Looks better than the other ones, in my opinion.

 

Sick battle screen. But I'm pretty sure they've used those colors since DPPt xD And I think that pic has been around for a while, not exactly sure, though.
