The mightyena snarled, spittle flying from its muzzle and the ursaring's claws glinted threateningly. The poochyena and teddiursa looked eager to fight. Ki and Star readied themselves for battle.
"Ki, use Draining Kiss on the mightyena!" Virgil commanded, feeling his pulse quicken at the sight of the growling dark-type.
The mightyena finally fainted after being hit by a few more Draining Kiss attacks, but the poochyena had managed to slip past Ki's defences and tackle the klefki to the ground. The ursaring roared as Star's move made contact, swiping it's heavy paw at the umbreon
The ursaring hit the ground with a loud thud and didn't get up. The teddiursa gave a furious snarl and charged at Star. Ki was able to shake the poochyena off, scraping himself badly in the process. Barely conscious, Ki sent another Draining Kiss in the dark-type's direction.
The teddiursa fell face-first into the dirt just as the poochyena fainted. Ki jingled tiredly and tapped on his Pokéball to retreat back inside. There was a brief moment of silence before Virgil turned to Star, "Thanks for detecting them." he said, somewhat begrudgingly but grateful nonetheless.
"your welcome" Star says "I just don't like others hurt, but they'll wake up soon but the parents will be grateful the kids aren't to inured but we should be gone by then." I say "then lets get moving so they don't wake up and attack us
They hurried along through the forest, slowing down once they had put enough distance between them and the wild Pokémon. Virgil cast a confused look at Star, "So... Have you always been able to talk?"
"How does a Pokémon learn to-" Virgil broke off when he caught sight of something in the distance. The tops of Topaz City's buildings were visible in the distance. "We're almost there."
"yeah so is pokespeech is for humans" I smirk helps "mediate attacking wild Pokémon and get help from them in times of need"
"Speaking of wild Pokémon, the baby rhydon should be somewhere in Topaz City, provided those poachers haven't moved on." Virgil commented, indicating to the cluster of buildings in the distance, "We should be able to reach it before it gets dark if we hurry."
The sun was starting to dip over the horizon by the time they reached the small city, panting and out of breath. Virgil wheezed, looking up and down the street they were standing in, "It doesn't look like there are many places somebody could hide a rhydon." he commented, taking out Ki's Pokéball, "This shouldn't take too long."
