So, here’s a thought. You clear the elite four, make it to the champion room, and the trainer you face has the exact team of the previous years video game champion. Actually, let’s build up on that thought. The entire elite four are the preceding video game champion teams. It doesn’t have to be the first run through either. This could be part of the post game too. This will definitely change the game play, but if you want to be a true champion, that’s what you need to beat. It may take a lot of AI improvement to make work, but what do you think? Would you welcome the change, or do you believe doing something like that would take away from Pokémon?
I honestly don't see a reason for doing that, mainly because the VGC is double battles the champion have always been single battle (that could change although I highly doubt it ever will) and as always it needs to be kept in mind that the games are actually aimed at younger people throwing real world champion teams at kids just seem like an overall bad idea as most of then will probably not care about the competitive aspect such a team would bring not to mention even with AI tampering it'll probably still not feel like you're playing against an actual champion unless they go all out with it.
No, why would we do that? The games are not periodically and it just doesn’t seem interesting at all to add someone who you might fight only once to the games. I don’t usually rechallenge the league, and certainly not in the latest two games. Why should one person, who many people do not even know, be put into the games? For me it wouldn’t add anything to the game itself. Besides that, like Hrae said, Pokémon is targeted at the same age group as the protagonist, so ten year olds. It took me around 5 years to wrap my head around competative stats and all that. So having a comp player ai in place seems like a bad idea.
Maybe that would work better in a Battle Tree/Tower etc. scenario... and with a double battle format. There was actually a thing back with the PWT in Black and White2 where you battled against the VGC World champs and their teams. I think it would be interesting if there was an available "Challenge Mode" again like in BW2, but all of the E4 and Champion's Pokémon are built competitively for singles with respective EVs and Items.
