Now that's quite a lot to take in, Blacky thought as he shifted from one map to another. Master was right. Minstrels' shenanigans aside, Lady Aine is quite meticulous with whatever she's up to.
@Laserdragon14 @sanianisa @ChocoChicken @122 Generation @Kecleon352 "No doubt all of this looks intimidating." Aine mused. "But I encourage you to ask questions about what I have found--I will answer them to the best of my ability."
"All right, so just how long have you been working on this? And what can you tell us about each Dragon King, on their own?"
@ChocoChicken "I have spent several years compiling all of this." Aine replied. "The Dragon Kings themselves are challenging to battle, but if you understand their weakness, the tide may turn in your favor. All of them, even the Sun Dragon King, are weak to light."
(Perhaps we could say Aroma left behind a note that she can't handle the pressure of taking on the Dragon Kings and wishes the group luck instead) Atelier smiled a Xuehua, seeing how amazed she was at the work Aine had put in. "That's useful to know," he said. He took out his journal to make notes. "We'll need a good strategy to take on them, though. So to which target are we going to first?"
@Laserdragon14 @sanianisa @ChocoChicken @122 Generation @Kecleon352 (That works) Aine spread out the main map of Ardamore. "The closest target to our position is the Earth Dragon King. He is said to lurk somewhere in the forest."
Kelvane lost himself in thought as Aine began to show the others the map and talking about the location of the nearest Dragon King. "I know light doesn't equal fire, but fire users tend to be really good at honing light magic, if the magic books I read are anything to go by. I hope that doesn't mean that I-" His thought got cut off when his nose began to itch, and tried to sniff it away, trying desperately to avoid another sneezing fiasco, especially around all of Lady Aine's paperwork.
@Kecleon352 Aine panicked at the sniffle. If Kelvane sneezed, all her hard work could go up in smoke! Seios, higarima laisido... she sang, praying all the while it would calm the allergy and avert a sneeze.
The Earth Dragon King, huh? Blacky thought as he shuffled the maps to get the one of said Dragon King's lair. He actually found two: one for outside the lair, one for inside it.
@sanianisa Both maps were fairly large. The outdoor map detailed the somewhat long way to reach the lair, and the indoor map detailed the lair itself, floor by floor.
Immediately, Kelvane could feel the sneeze fading away as Aine sang her song. He sheepishly rubbed the back of his head. "Um, thank you. And, sorry. There's a lot of dust floating around here. That'skind of why my parents banned me from our library back home." Feeling extremely dejected, he turned around and said, "I'll just...wait by the door." He the walked out the door and stood by the entrance, groaning into his paws as his allergy somehow managed to get him into even more trouble than he was already in.
@Kecleon352 Starlight looked up from her reading to look at the Flareon leaving the room. She looked down at her herb supplies. Her heart sank when she realized that she only had one peppermint leaf left. I hope that this will help, thought Starlight as she walked after the Flareon. "Hey," greeted Starlight as she handed him the leaf. "Smell this peppermint leaf, I believe that it might help with your allergies for a bit."
Kelvane looked up at the Eevee before looking down at the leaf he was being offered. "Peppermint doesn't usually help with my allergies all that much, my parents and siblings can tell you that much." Still, he took the leaf regardless, muttering, "Thanks, anyway." And once more, as if conditioned his whole life for the task, he leaned his head back against the wall and placed the leaf just under his nose, where he can get the most smell from it as he possibly could. If he were honest with himself, though, he wanted to throw the leaf away right now, or possibly even light it on fire personally, as having to smell stuff like this for years has made him quite sick of it. Not that he would tell anybody about this, of course.
Atelier wanted to take a look at the maps too but was then distracted by his urge to read his novel. In doing so, he kept his novel in hand but didn't read it yet as he was distracted by the Flareon. Like Aine, Atelier worried for the safety of his books. "If only there was some way to make him less allergic to dust - and dust of all things is everywhere." Besides that, he did take a small liking to the fellow Eevee who appeared to look out for others. He might have done the same if he had peppermint leaves in his satchel too. But afterward he did go to study the maps beside Blacky. The Dragon King's lair was located in the forest, as it happened. It would be well hidden, but that gave some opportunities for a surprise attack too.
@Laserdragon14 @SAF @ChocoChicken @122 Generation @Kecleon352 Aine's research indicated the Earth Dragon King hunted at night, and slept during the day. If you were after its treasure, you had to wait until nightfall. But if you wanted to battle the huge beast itself, you had to go in during the day.
"Lady Aine, I have a question," Blacky said. "Light aside, what are the Earth Dragon King's weaknesses?"
Starlight watched closely as the Flareon smelled the peppermint leaf. It didn't seem as effective as she had hoped. She wondered when she had gathered that leaf and strained to think. Maybe two weeks ago? Starlight thought. That is a bit old for some herbs.
@Laserdragon14 (Aine can use her spellsong to conjure anything you guys may need--including more crowns and buildings.)
"Fire and ice, huh?" Blacky thought for a moment, then muttered, "Maybe Xuehua and that Flareon kid can take him on..." He's still worried about the Flareon kid, though. Will he be okay with what we're going to take on?
