Group RP Pokemon: Evolution Quest (IC thread)

For warm clothing, Blacky figured the local seamstress might have one. Still had to make sure for this one, though. "Hey, uh," he turned to the random patrons from before. "Know any tailors nearby?"

 

"We do have that fiery potion we picked up not long ago," Xuehua added. "I imagine that it could work if you watered it down a lot." Or maybe a little. Being almost made of ice tended to skew temperatures.

 

(Man, that takes me way back. Good times)

“Oh. Good to know. We should always be prepared when it comes to staying warm and fighting in cold weather,” Atelier said. Turning to Xuehua, he said, “I could try mixing that potion with a drink, like coffee. Maybe that would be easier to digest instead of eating fire. Just a drop, maybe.”

After heeding the Meowth’s words, he made his way through the cold climate to find the tailor. It was quite cold here!

(I’m reminded of Genshin where if you don’t find someplace warm while venturing in a blizzard, you’ll freeze to death!)

 

Seeing the Eevee tactician already heading out, Blacky quickly downed his espresso and stood up. "Oi, wait up!" the Umbreon's yelp as he headed out got the other patrons' attention. And thus, the boys made their way to the tailor, never mind that it was too freezing for their liking out there.

 

As expected from a tailor's shop, it was full of various clothing articles. Blacky quickly made a beeline to the winter outfit section due to his immediate need for one. Not only for himself, but also for his teammates -- sans Xuehua because the cold never bothered her anyway.

 

Atelier followed Blacky from behind to browse the wares. It seemed like the tailor was accommodating for visitors and not just locals, given the selection of winter clothes. He might need a scarf and a heavier coat, consider where they were headed. Only Xuehua wouldn't have a problem here - still, it wouldn't hurt to get her something, maybe.

 

One quick browsing later, Blacky spotted a coat evoking Flareon, down to the Flareon-like fluffs and all. However, he also wondered if its fluffy bits would hinder his swordsmanship...

(@WavePearl, what kind of winter outfit would you imagine Aine wearing? And @ChocoChicken, does Xuehua need any clothing articles at all?)

 

(@SAF Xuehua will be fine, probably just keep her cloak. Though I imagine winter clothing for the others could also involve a similar cloak that's thicker? For Aine I can imagine a cloak with more rounded fluff, maybe in pink and white.)

This store... Xuehua took an extra moment to follow in after the boys, firstly given her affinity for the cold, and secondly... it seemed familiar. Though upon closer inspection, she didn't recognize any of the designs, nor the shopkeepers. She had bought her first - and current - cloak in Ludester, after all, even before she'd evolved... best to keep a low profile about those times. The other three probably still believed her story of coming from another land - or if she hadn't told them, would buy it. Probably. So long as she didn't say she was from Atelier's, or blow her cover somehow, like meeting a shopkeep she'd met before.

 

(Ha. Whereas since Atelier is from a foreign land, I doubt he'll find something similar to his cloak. But what if Xuehua's tongue slipped? Atelier may pester her for a bit)

The thing was, for Atelier he wondered how he could balance the needs of getting a warm cloak while also needing some mobility to reach for his tomes. He decided to look at alternatives, like getting a thinner cloak and supplementing it with gloves and scarf. That might be enough, he hoped.

He found a cloak that evoked the fur of a Mamoswine. That seemed pretty toasty! But it might be too thick. Hmm. He decided to look at another cloak and perhaps something not as flashy like the Flareon one that Blacky was eyeing. Maybe a regular cloak might do.

 

On the second thought, the Flareon cloak was too fancy (if not outright impractical) for Blacky's liking, so he eventually settled for a simple woolen cloak that was shorter than the ones his companions were wearing. Said cloak roughly looks like this:

He also got himself a pair of matching gloves to complement the cloak.

So <500 + the gloves' price> crowns later, Blacky wore his new cloak and gloves right away, plus the Starlight Bandana worn under his trusty yellow scarf for extra warmth. He then had a round of window shopping while waiting for Atelier, Aine (if she's there too) and/or Xuehua to complete their shopping session(s).

 

Then Atelier wondered if he might even feel cooked with this kind of coat on top of his own Eevee Scarf and current robes. So instead of buying the coat, he purchased a fleece vest that he would wear underneath his robes, plus a small black face shield - kind of like those that would be worn by knights - to protect his nose and mouth from wind. No way was he letting his face freeze here!

Then he walked out to meet Blacky outside.

(Assuming he also paid for the 500 crowns rate, plus 250 for the mask)

By the time Atelier went out, Blacky was still lost in his train of thoughts. This is because he probably would need to buy a winter cloak for Aine too but not sure if she's coming along...
