Uh... okaaay? the Umbreon raised his eyebrow. Deep down he would've betted that Garma had tried to directly apologize only for the townsfolk to get spooked somehow. (This is Blacky's wild guess as of now. Feel free to confirm or deny it as you see fit.)
And then Blacky went back to reading the letter. Did Garma have anything else to say there, or... that's it?
@SAF If ya really want me to join ya on your world savin' quest, I'll be hanging out in Steamington's adventurer's guild. the letter went on. You can hire me any time you need some spying done.
While he was reading his novel, Atelier's mind went to his allies. That Gengar and the Lanturn had been very useful and he ought to thank them later. Now that he thought of it, the others were taking their time, weren't they?
Okay, now that's reassuring. Blacky gave both of Garma's letters to Aine and asked her, "Well, milady, what do you think?"
@SAF Aine smiles. "It just so happens our own next destination is Steamington. Perhaps we'll see Garma again."
It was at that moment that Xuehua entered the room, looking mildly more tired than usual, but that was definitely going to pass and not at all a result of her attempting to figure out the mysteries of the Orb past midnight. Only hearing Aine's last response, she gave the others a thumbs-up. "Then we should set off, right?"
@ChocoChicken Aine nodded. "Once the festival is over, we will travel to Steamington. It lies to the south and west of here. The steam created from its forges originates from water, so as not to ruin the surrounding environment."
Atelier, now having had his fill of reading and food, also packed up his bag to join the others. “Hello...” he muttered. “Are we off to somewhere now?”
@SAF @122 Generation @ChocoChicken (would you guys like to stay for the festival, or move on to Steamington?)
Seeing Xuehua and Atelier at the doorway, Blacky gave them both a wave. "Yo," he said. "It's Steamington next." (Let's just skip to Steamington. I'm stuck for the Keelford arc tbh.)
@ChocoChicken @122 Generation @SAF After a wonderful two weeks of celebrating, the group set off for Steamington. The city was famed for its many smithies, so an adventurer did not have to look very far for a weapon or armor.
Smithies, smithies everywhere. Thanks to that, every parts of Steamington felt really hot. Blacky had several things to do now that he's here: planning for the upcoming Dragon King, checking his weapons up now that the starter sword felt a bit blunt, researching on how to wield the Undine's Tear, or paying a visit to the local shrine. Man, wonder what to do first...?
At least to Xuehua, this leg would be one of the more difficult on this journey. But at least going up against a fiery Dragon King would provide a space where the Sapphires could be useful. And if she could learn a water spell or two... The mage guild would have to be her first stop, no questions asked. Perhaps they knew more about the Orb than the guild back in Keelford?
Atelier hadn't prepared for the sheer size of the city. It was a lot bigger than those in his homeland. Every block had at least five blacksmiths, and that was only a small part of the overall makeup that was the centre of trade and commerce. There were even bookstores that he wanted to check out, but perhaps equipment upgrades could come first. Then maybe he could gather intelligence on the next Dragon King.
@SAF @122 Generation @ChocoChicken Aine, meanwhile, had made herself at home in the library. She wanted to be sure what she knew about the Fire Dragon King wouldn't cost them dearly later.
Atelier really didn’t want to lose his companions in the city, but his temptation to check a bookstore was too great for him. And Aine seemed to have gone ahead anyway. He ended up walking into the nearest one to see what was on display.
Some contemplations later, Blacky opted to go to the shrine. Might as well leave an offering while he's at it.
