(I personally think she'd start with the basics before learning something like Water Pulse, but if Water Pulse is recommended she could probably start to learn both in Steamington if allowed)
Soon enough, Atelier had read through the pages that explained how to use Water Sport. Given he was expecting a fiery enemy, he supposed this would come in useful. Then, having read enough, he decided to go for a walk around Steamington.
Now with a plan in mind, Xuehua burst in through the mage guild's doors, scrambling over to the closest person who seemed to be in charge. "Hey, are there any particular water or multi-elemental mages offering tutoring at the moment? What are their rates?" She supposed Crowns wouldn't be too big a problem after two Dragon Kings. Unless the prices were too ridiculous, of couurse.
@ChocoChicken ::peels self away from New Pokémon Snap:: The archmage seemed confused at Xuehua's request. "Well, what sort of spell are you attempting to learn?" the Delphox archmage asked.
Simply put, Atelier concluded that Steamington was a very big city. Every corner seemed to have an endless number of blacksmiths and he wondered how they competed with each other. Even then he wondered how his companions were doing. The afternoon was turning into a crisp evening, after all.
That... was a good question. Xuehua paused for a good few seconds. "...Anything will do, at this point. I suppose start with the basics?" she replied with an awkward smile and shrug.
After thanking the priestess for her answers even though it was about half of what he truly needed, Blacky stepped out from the shrine. He was a bit torn between going to the mage guild or one of the smithies. Hmm... One random walk around the town later, a smithy specializing in swords drew Blacky's attention. Eh, why not? he shrugged and made his way straight there. (And yes, I don't wanna get the local archmage overwhelmed, hence Blacky saving his trip to the mage guild for later.)
Soon enough, Blacky opened the smithy's door. "Excuse me..." he stepped inside and looked around. Seems like nobody's around at the moment. "Anybody home?"
@SAF "I'm coming..." a Charmeleon sighed. "Gotta keep the forges hot, you know..." He turned business-like again. "What can I getcha?"
Thank goodness... Blacky thought as a Charmeleon shopkeeper came out. With him turning business-like again, the Umbreon took his three swords out. "Can you please do a check-up for these three? I think they're a bit blunt..."
(Well... The Sword of Light Auras is slightly blunt The Cinderace sword looks a bit worn out The diving sword had it worse -- the blade is rusty and Blacky forgot to clean it last time That's all, I reckon.)
(Just starting with anything low-level enough. Water Gun or even Water Sport like Atelier - she needs to start learning how to channel her element differently if she wants to summon water instead of ice. Or also Water Pulse as you mentioned earlier, alongside one of those)
@SAF The smithy winced at the swords. "I don't know what you tussled with to get your blades this battered, but I'll get them fighting fit again in no time!" He next hurried off to get some rust remover for the diving sword... @ChocoChicken "In order to understand Water Pulse, we must first learn Water Gun first." the archmage mused. "Ice is itself a form of water--learning to control water will build on your mastery of ice."
"Actually..." Blacky sighed as he gave his swords to the smithy. "I took the lightest one diving in the sea several weeks ago and used the other two on my way here. Never thought it's gonna be that rusty..." (...welp, look at that post count. )
@SAF (22 more to go to 3000!) "Next time, ask a mage to water proof it." the smithy suggested as he rubbed the rusty blade down with yuzu cleaner. "If you can't get to a smithy, you can ask an alchemist for yuzu cleaner to clean off rust."
Lights and torches lit up the landscape of Steamington while Atelier went on his evening stroll. He couldn't decide where to visit next, besides the bookstore. There was a mage's guild, there were more blacksmiths than he could count, and then there was the inn. Or perhaps he could gather more information at the tavern. "Where to go..." he muttered.
