Sorry for the delay, folks. Got a bit of writer's block for more than a week and controlling three characters at once would take quite some time to handle. I got this, though.
@SAF As a general rule of thumb, the higher the grade, the more times you can use them (in increments of 10--so a Minor rune can be invoked 10 times before shattering, a Lesser rune can be used 20 times, and so on)
Hey Wave. The next time we do another boss battle, mind if I control the battle sequence? I can think of a way to spice things up. That is, with turn based combat and hit points.
If Wave allows it, I think you two should discuss everything via DMs. Unless you wanna spoil Choco and me, that is.
Yeah, it was a little weird that we did manage to take down the Water DK the usual way but didn't have the numbers, since the Earth DK did have a turn-based system.
Alrighty, I'll just draft a set of stats for the party. We started out with 100 HP at Lv. 1 and now we're at Lv. 6, eh? I'll just assume that each level increases HP by 10 and Attack by 1. For combat, I'll do a random roll. 0<19: Miss 20<79: Hit 80<100: Critical (2x) Current stats (Lv. 6): HP: 160 Atk: 16 (+ any relevant Pokémon move power) Def: 80% (Percentage of damage taken) So basically, if Wave allows it, I'll direct the combat sequence using these. If there are any buffs or debuffs, like Aine's music, I'll just adjust as needed. That's my proposal.
Aside from the crits, I feel like 122 and Wave's styles aren't too different. The base HP is 100, we've had level ups which 122 accounts for, and I guess it's all down to risk versus reward - higher fail chance for higher crit chance or a smaller chance of both. I personally might prefer the higher chances, as it suits the more risky all-or-nothing the Dragon King battles I feel like may be like.
The other part is, we still use a rate with a 50% success rate of hitting, as opposed to 80%. Of course, we haven't had an attack yet that missed in the IC thread. Though I think it would be more realistic to show HP count and the characters feeling damage and so on. @SAF It wouldn't be too hard to integrate Wave's rules of combat too.
We did have a critical miss early on when Atelier cast a spell, but the effects still hit the Earth DK.
True, but outside of that, not much else(?). Next time we do combat, I’ll have a crack at controlling the flow then. I’ll just need my trusty calculator.
@SAF (bear in mind Garma's not leaving for good, he'll still drop in to help and do recon. But for this goodbye, I'll be happy to write out his response.)
Aighty. Might wanna prank Blacky while he's at it too~ Anyway, as much as I wanna write Blacky's part, he's still out of commission for now. I ended up writing Garma's part up to him arriving at Blacky's room instead.
I suppose I'll do that for Xuehua's current spells as well! I know Wave said we could use any move, but for me it's nice to have a guide.
