When I first played XY, it only took me about 12 hours to beat haha. I like going through the plot, beating the E4 and then going back, completing my Pokédex, etc. Especially since XY doesn't have much of a postgame, it gave me some things to do.

Usually it takes me longer. It depends how much I play it, how difficult for me it actually is (this applies more for me as a kid, LG was terrible to beat), but most times I go through the plot first, before anything.

I try to explore everything, so I end up taking quite an amount of time, I think like 40 hours or something.

How I usually play through a Pokémon game for the first time:
    THERE'SNOTIMETOLOSEMUSTBEATTHECHAMPIONNOTIMEFORSPACEGOTTABETHEVERYBESTLIKENOONEEVERWAS...

    After I beat the Champion:
God damnit I'm an idiot -_-

Now, I'm going to try my very best to avoid doing this in OR/AS. I want to play through the game, but I also want to take my time to actually enjoy everything the game has to offer. Talking to every NPC, searching for hidden items, catching some new Pokémon... I usually don't do that stuff until AFTER the credits roll, which is a bad thing from me...

It usually takes me between 3 days and a week to beat a Pokémon game when a new one just comes out. Since I'm an obsessed fan I play for many hours a day until I beat the Champion and then slow down a bit to give myself time to relax before moving onto breeding and post-game content. n~n who needs sleep? :D

It takes me around a week for most of my games. I usually go at this pace because I like having the game pretty much done so I can brag about it to my little cousin xD

It took me ten days to clear Y, because I was having so much fun exploring and documenting everything (something I plan to do again for AS)

I don't always get as much time as I'd like to play, between work and other hobbies. That, and I much prefer to take my time in a game and enjoy it to it's fullest, make it last. I think the fastest I've finished a game (plot wise) was when I replayed through my Black version game. I think it was about a week. X will be the first time I've fully completed the Dex though.

Erm, depends. If you count beating the Pokémon League in GSC/HGSS beating the game, then ~12-15 hours. If you don't count that and instead base beating GSC/HGSS on defeating Red, then probably ~24+ hours. Going by real time, the quickest I've beaten a game was in a few days. Honestly, when I first get the game I like rushing through; the second playthrough and later are when I take things more slowly.

Wow how do you people play so quickly?

I like to play at a much more casual pace, so that I can properly see everything that the game has to offer.

Pokémon Diamond, my first Pokémon game, took a month or two for me to complete. Rather than speeding through all the gym leaders and then destroying the Champion and Elite Four, I sort of stroll through the game, getting distracted by the tiniest things.

I think my first playthrough of X was about... twenty hours? Since then I've shaved it down to just over four hours and ten minutes as my record, though I'm certain I could get down to four hours if I took a closer look at the routing and polished up my menuing and didn't get haxxed to death.

When I get a Pokémon game, I play through the game at top speed until I'm done with everything. That includes the postgame. I usually do this because I can't bring myself to leave something unfinished.

It varies greatly on how much time and energy I have to play, some times it might take less than a day others it can take me weeks because I take my dear sweet time sometimes.

It can take me anywhere from a few days to several weeks. I normally take it slow during my first playthrough and try to get as much enjoyment out of the experience as I can. My first playthrough of X took 10 days and almost 150 hours, haha. Usually with other fun challenges like Nuzlockes, they take maybe 20-50 hours to complete, depending on the game.

Some of the newer games I tend to get through rather quickly if it's a casual playthrough. When I got Pearl I beat it in seven days and had 35 hours logged at the time. With White 2 I beat the game in four days (almost three full days, got the game one evening and beat it three afternoons later) and almost 20 hours, and X was six days and 23 hours.

When it comes to challenges, ones that aren't Nuzlockes or Wedlockes will usually take around 20 to 30 or even 35 hours depending on the game or playthrough, a couple of my Monotypes have gone above 30. But Nuzlockes and Wedlockes are different, my White 2 Wedlocke was 62 hours and over a month and a half, but X I did in two weeks and took 50 hours. Heart Gold was two and a half months and 96 hours at the time I beat Red, some of which involved doing things like Voltorb Flip and backtracking.

A typical playthrough of a Gen. I game took me around 40-50 hours to get from start to beating the League Champion (Blue). I don't remember about Gen. II, because there are quite a few variables in determining what counts as completion (beating the Elite 4 or going all the way to defeat Red, the latter of which I have never done.)

It took me 5 days to complete Pokémon X, from the day I got it to the 17th. It really doesn't take me too long to complete Pokémon games since I know the ins and outs before the games come out.
