So as some of you might have heard the Pokémon company and Niantic, the creators of the beautiful geocaching game ingress, are collaborating to create a wonderful new phone game for IOS and Android. This will use the world around you and allow you to be able to catch and battle Pokémon in the real world. There's even a small device you can get to assist you in it.

I think this is amazing, but what are your thoughts? What do you like about it, what do you want to see, and is there any other butts of info you would like to add?

Okay, you know what. [3D='shuckle'] this idea. You know why. Did anyone else see the "gameplay" at the end of the trailer? Pokémon Dream Radar had better Augmented Reality than this. And the Google Maps April Fools day from last year had a very similar trailer and you remember what that was like? I'm sorry, but this game looks [3D='shuckle'] stupid, and I hope that whatever functionality it has connecting to the real games isn't important.

Also, a free game on IoS that has microtransactions and an accessory that comes with it... There are so many thing wrong with that phrase. Microtransactions.

Since this is made by Pokémon and not google I'm looking really forward to this! I just hope I have the memory space on my phone, haha.

I might take a day and travel around the city; kinda just like the Unova region, and catch the little critters once the game comes out!

Keep in mind that Niamtic is apart of Google. However they made ingress which was a beautifully done game

Judging from the previous success with Ingress, I'm actually really excited for this!
To be honest, I'm looking forward to seeing someone else with the bracelet and locking eye contact with them. Guess what's going down? It's time to battle! They can't escape it either. It's the rule of the Pokémon game! I really want this just for this reason alone haha.

I really mostly dislike this idea, and here's why:

So, I'm downtown walking to the shuttle stop or something when I get a notification on my phone. Hey, there's a Pokémon nearby! Let me follow its directions and... oh, wait, it's hiding in the middle of a restaurant, or an apartment building, or a car dealership, or something. Aha! Here's one that's in an empty field! Now I just need to walk across grass of the keep-off-the variety and stand around in the middle of a baseball field that's actually being used right now. Well there goes that wild Pokémon. Next one? Oh, it's not in a building or on the other side of a fence or anything! I can go get it... in the middle of the street (and not even at a crosswalk, woe is me!). Let's say I try to go and get it anyhow... oh, what the heck, I went through all that for a Weedle?

Here's the other thing: even if the locational Pokémon finding is perfect and not put in the middle of non-public buildings or down creepy alleys, if I'm walking around outside, I'm already doing something of moderate to high importance. Either I'm jogging for exercise and don't want to stop and play a videogame, or I'm hanging out with someone who I'd rather talk to than play a videogame, or I'm trying to catch a bus so I can get to class on time and not play a videogame. If I want to play a videogame, I'll do it when I want to, not when my phone tells me to in the exact same way I hate in-game trainers telling me when to battle. I'll tell my game when I want to battle, I will not let it tell me when to battle.

The only thing I like about this at all is the Raid idea, which is eerily similar to two-chapters-ago entry of my story in the literature forum. I actually want this feature implemented in the main games, so legendaries actually feel like threats. I should have to send out my whole team of six or ally myself with others to take down this god-like beast.

So yeah, only one thing I like about Pokémon Go. Not enough to make me want to go get it.

This application is the only reason why I will be purchasing a phone. It's as if my wish came true! I had once wished for Pokémon to be real, and what better way to celebrate this wish than the amazing Pokémon Go!? I would be curious to see exactly where the Pokémon would appear - I wouldn't mind a few Rattatas inside my house...

Pokémon Go! would be the perfect excuse for me to travel frequently. But most of all, I'm rather happy that this application is made and designed by the Pokémon company, not Google. I believe that the April Fool's joke a while ago was foreshadowing the release of this game.

It sounds really cool, but I don't have a mobile device of any sort and so I wouldn't be able to play it. I'm sure interested in hearing more about it when it comes out, though.

I really love the idea of this. It's something I've been wishing for since I was 6! Other than the phone app thing...
Just like ANY game these days I'm not going to have the highest expectations of this game when it first comes out. I'm going to be patient and positive waiting for any updates that they make. It's going to be incredible and no one will hinder my feelings for this!

I'm sort of iffy with the whole concept. Like Dream Radar, the whole merging real life with Pokémon concept just doesn't seem as enticing as the actual Pokémon world. I can just picture a blurred rare Pokémon stuck on top of some landmark 50 miles away at 2:30am and I honestly wouldn't even want to bother. I guess I can't really give a proper opinion until I tried it out yet, but just by the commercial I'm already iffy with the whole concept.
