"A few months later, a third ship came to the island." Serena went on. "As was his custom, Prince Garret again made the sailors feel welcome and told them to send his respects to the king. As the sailors prepared themselves for their journey, our hero told Fiona that he still couldn't get his father out of his mind and wished to see him again. This time Fiona turned our hero into a Combee...

She paused to sing Imultaos, ame no hao bakezo... making a whorl of glittering leaves swirl through the room

"The ship arrived in Kanduin, and the sailors told the king about the wondrous city they had seen and how every day thirty-three knights and Manaphy would emerge from the sea to protect the island at night." Serena continued. "The king marveled at this and wanted to see this extraordinary land, but once again was talked out of it by the two sisters and old Barbara. They belittled the sailors' tale and said that what was really amazing was that beyond the seas lived a princess so stunning that you couldn't take your eyes off of her."

"They said that the light of day paled against her beauty, the darkness of night was lit up by it." Serena went on. "When she spoke, it was like the murmur of a tranquil brook. A half moon sparkled on her plait, and a bright star shone on her forehead."

She smiled and waited for Ash to swallow before continuing. "Garret, in the form of a Combee, got angry at the women once more and stung Barbara on her nose."

Ash's laughter was the hardest as Serena played a hard chord to mimic the sting.

"After his arrival home, Prince Garret strolled out to the seashore until he was met by Fiona, who again asked why he was sad." Serena went on over an interlude. Prince Garret said that he was sad because he did not have a wife. He told the tale he had heard of the beautiful princess whose beauty lit up the darkness, whose words flowed like a murmuring brook."

She went on "Fiona was silent for a while, then said that there was such a princess in the world."

"But a wife is no glove that one can simply cast from one's hand. She is one to love and cherish forever, like a priceless jewel." she cautions in character as Fiona.

Serena smiled--it was time for the twist in her tale! "Prince Garret said he understood that, but that he was prepared to walk the rest of his life and even to the end of the world to search for the wondrous princess. At this, the Swanna sighed and sang what sounded like a prayer..."

With that, she sang Gatrandis favel, secret, edena...

Applause went up at the melody and the rainbow aura that appeared around Serena--never mind she had only used the Swanna Song for show. "With this, she transformed into the very princess that the prince had heard about. The two passionately embraced and kissed, and Garret took her to meet his mother. It goes without saying that Prince Garret and Fiona were married that very night."

"A short time later, another ship came to the island." Serena's tale was not yet over. "As usual, Prince Garret welcomed the sailors and, as they were leaving, he asked the sailors to send his greetings to the king and to extend an invitation to him to visit. Being happy with his new bride, Garret decided not to leave the island this time."

She went on "When the ship arrived in Kanduin, the sailors again told the king of the fantastic island they had seen, of the singing Parchirisu cracking the golden nuts, of the thirty-three armored knights rising out of the sea, and of the lovely princess whose beauty was beyond compare."

She smiles "This time the king would not listen to the snide remarks of the sisters and Barbara. He called his fleet and set sail for the island immediately."

"There are plenty of holy staves here for all budgets." the smithy smiled. "If you don't see any you like, I can custom make one for you, for a reasonable fee."

"When he reached the island, Prince Garret was there to meet the king." Serena went on. "Saying nothing, Garret led him, along with his two sisters-in-law and Barbara, to the palace. Along the way, the king saw everything that he had heard so much about. There at the gates were the thirty-three knights and Manaphy standing guard. There in the courtyard was the remarkable Parchirisu, singing a song and gnawing on a golden nut. There in the garden was the beautiful princess, Garret's wife. And then the king saw something unexpected: there standing next to the princess was Garret's mother, the king's long-lost wife!"

More cheers went up at this.
