"It's really bitter, but it will cure you in no time," Leon said, as he offered the soup to her. "The cook tried his best to soften the flavour of the Energy Root, so he added a ton of sweet and spicy berries to make it taste better. But, if you want to be cured quick, you better take it."

 

"It's unfortunate, yes," Leon agreed. "When you've recovered, we can take a walk tomorrow in the morning. How does that sound?"

Meanwhile, Belle was downstairs getting some dinner for herself. She didn't need to eat a lot.

 

As for Leon, he was glad Michelle was not rejecting the soup at all. With that done, he suddenly fell asleep on the foot of the bed.

Belle finally finished her meal and hopped onto the floor. She turned to Ian, saying, "You coming?"

 

Soon enough, Belle and Ian were back at the room where they saw a peculiar sight. Leon was sleeping, but his legs were on the floor and his arms were on the bed. He was asleep as Michelle helped put a little blanket on him.

"Oh dear! What happened?" she squeaked.

 

Belle made herself comfortable near Leon's head and fell asleep too.

(Okay with a few days' time skip? So Michelle can recover by then and Leon gets his letter...)

It had been five days that Michelle had to spend at the inn, where in the meantime Leon had been going out and doing his own errands. On one hand, he hoped that with this much time spent, the Flare Guild would probably have started to tire from searching for them. On the other hand, he had been doing survey work for the SBC at Illumis Factory, where he had been promoting SBC products and trading in the surrounding area. It was the least he could do to find some temporary paid work.

So on that morning, Leon was still sleeping on the chair while Belle was already up and basking in the sunlight. Now they had been in Illumis for almost a week, it seemed like the right time to move out again. For Belle, she wondered what became of her home now. After defeating the Flare Guild fortresses, it seemed like the SBC might be able to fight off the stockade around the city at last. She just wished she could have news right now.

 

Belle tried her best to stir Leon awake with her little arms, but it was having little effect. Rather, Leon mistook Belle for a pillow and brought her closer to his face. That left Belle a little frustrated.

 

Belle smiled immediately the moment Michelle pet her head. "He still has yet to wake up," she squeaked. "But yes, I'm okay." She wiggled her head to straighten her pedals.

Leon was not startled by Michelle's scream, but it was enough to wake him up. "Hmmm....? Oh, good morning," he said tiredly.

 

"But I wasn't trying to..." Leon started but was silenced by Belle's facepalming. "You know what? Never mind."

He tiredly got up and picked up his bag and hat. "I'm going to drop by the SBC factory one more time. There's enough gold from our journey to last us a while, and the factory has been paying me just enough. Is there anywhere else you want to go to?"

 

"Man, someone's hyped up already," Leon said. "But I understand. I want to help my home as fast as I can too. Glad to see you're feeling better."

Leon and Michelle eventually made it out of th inn. First stop was the SBC factory...
