@[member="~Seeker Of Shadows~"] @[member="122 Generation"] @[member="Shadria"] How Combat Works: I will make a post detailing the enemy encounter to initiate combat. Once the battle begins, you make a post describing your character's move. I will then post your character's and the enemy's HP bars, followed by the results of your move as determined by a random number generator. Anything above 50 is considered a hit, and anything above 75 is a critical hit. Conversely, anything below 50 is a miss, and anything below 25 is a critical failure The characters I control (Ash, Serena, Brock, and one other character we have yet to meet) are usually "on standby"--meaning they won't step in and fight unless you ask them to, or the number generator has been unkind to you Most of their attacks are subject to the number generator as well, but some of their moves (such as healing and buffing), always work--the number generator determines how effective it is. To keep it fair, every character (and any Pokémon) are only allowed to make one move per turn, unless you have been hasted--then you can move twice. The standard Pokémon status effects are also present: Poison, Sleep, Paralysis, Burn, and Freeze. In addition to these, there are also positive status effects as well: Haste, Spirit, Shield, Aura, and Regen
I've been thinking that in order to make things so Evergreen isn't OP, her Heal Pulse should have a limit like 1-2 per combat session. Or better yet, she could have an eight-turn recharge after use such that she would be out of combat to recover.
Or limit her so she can only use it if someone is in Danger (yellow zone) or in Peril (red zone) This is how my character's healing works.
Okay, I can go with that too. To help with world-building for Maria, let's assume that she takes one of three stances, judging from how she fights. Techniques were trained to her from the SBC. I'll leave it to you, Wave, to decide how they affect her fighting traits! I might as well give them names. Alpha Style (Balanced): Strikes are surprisingly normal. Emphasis on well-rounded weight to the sword. Sword is held to the side with two hands. Omega Style (Offensive): Strikes are aggressive. Emphasis on aggression by throwing weight to the sword. Sword is held behind with one hand. Delta Style (Defensive): Strikes are elegant. Emphasis on stability by balancing weight with the body. Sword is held in front with two hands. Maria's preferred style.
Fair enough--Delta just does normal damage. @[member="122 Generation"] @[member="~Seeker Of Shadows~"] @[member="Shadria"] Now that we've (almost) finished our first battle, I've thought of a way to (kinda) speed things up a bit: Rather than depicting HP as a line of dashes, it will just be colorized numbers: 100/100--HP is full 95/100--you've taken some damage, but are still okay 50/100--you are in Danger--you might be able to make it, but healing wouldn't hurt. 25/100--you are in Peril--get someone to heal you now! If you are affected by a status condition, they will appear by your HP count: 95/100 (PSN) 100/100 (AUR)
I also thought of this. Kirito used to be a high lv mage but because of the shackles he is a lv 1 mage. Also. The attack amatersu is a strong dark spell. But can only be used once in a battle and after a couple of attacks. It takes a lot of mana to use it also
