1x1 Pokemon: Journey of the Brilliant Stars (IC thread--WavexSAF)

Vicky woke up from a great sleep, stretching as she left the room with Pawnsly beside her. She made her way to the lobby, spotting Kenji. "Oh, good morning."

 

"Mowhning," Kenji was enjoying his apple pie oatmeal (a.k.a. oatmeal with apple, cinnamon, and walnut toppings) when Vicky noticed him. He swallowed his food, then greeted her again, "Good morning."

 

Vicky took a seat nearby, having gotten a filling breakfast of sausage, egg, bacon, and toast. "The bed was so comfy, I instantly fell asleep!" "Pawn.." Pawnsly sat next to her, eating some pokefood.

 

"Oh, yes!" Kenji's eyes were practically twinkling at the topic of last night's room. "It sure was so comfy, it feels good!" he excitedly mused before taking another bite of oatmeal. And after he swallowed the food, Kenji decided to change the topic. "By the way, have you heard about the grand tournament in Klondike? Klondike City, I mean." He wasn't that sure about this Team Labyrinth fellow, so any talks about it was skipped for now.

 

(A case of "we know this but our characters don't until Mint tells them", eh? Okay~

Victoria paused, thinking. "A grand tournament? Sounds super exciting!" The TV did creep into her hearing, but she was more focused on the tournament. "How do you get in?"

 

"They got the form online..." Kenji opened the internet browser on his Pokenav+ and made his way to the already bookmarked online form. "...here," he then showed the form to Vicky.

 

"Huh!" She pulled out her phone and looked up the site. "Thanks! You plan to sign up?" Vicky was typing away, filling it out.

 

"I- I dunno..." Kenji shyly admitted. "That duel with Mark yesterday was my first time, actually."

Vicky nodded, thinking. "You did pretty well on your first go, though.."

 

"Team Labyrinth?" Victoria paused, thinking. "Wasn't the tv just talking about them?"

 

A second female voice snapped Kenji to attention. Judging from the way she talked about Mark, this lady must be Mint. "Uh- what? M-me???" Kenji awkwardly pointed at himself. "But that duel was my first time and he did teach me well..." Granted, it was pretty embarrassing when you had to ask your opponent what that one card you just played was supposed to trigger, but deep down Kenji was glad that his very first duel was a "tutorial" one.

 

So Kenji only could scratch the back of his head in confusion. "Thanks... I guess?" he couldn't wrap his head around the sudden extension. I mean, Mark did tell him and Vicky that Mint would give them some nice perks and discount, but to think that would be the perks he talked about...

Turning to Vicky, Kenji nodded as well. "Last night's TV news talked about them too, actually."
