So we have a dilemma. Evergreen said quietly. We can rescue the cub now, or we stop that raid. Which is easier? "Obviously the former," Maria whispered. "But it looks like they're on the warpath or something. Maybe we should stop them, and then save the Teddiursa?" And I thought this was a low-ranked lost-and-found quest. The Gardevoir sighed. It wouldn't hurt to dust off our combat skills though.
@Tala Is Eternal @122 Generation @Jupjami @ChocoChicken "Let's rescue the Teddiursa first." Brock suggested. "Once we're sure mother and child are safe, then we can raid this bandit camp."
@Tala Is Eternal @122 Generation @Jupjami @ChocoChicken The Teddiursa gasped when it saw the group. Who are you? Have you perhaps come to save me?
Peri stepped out. Not knowing exactly how to communicate to the Teddiursa, he attempted to send a message to Evergreen who could. "Could you tell it we are here to help, and ask for any information regarding where those poachers are headed - and if there are any more trapped Pokémon in here?"
"You mean those other caged Pokémon a few ways over there?" Lunti asked, pointing further down the trail as Bagsik climbed back atop his head. "I found them after I got lost, heheh..." he added as the Treecko muttered something about his nonexistent sense of direction.
Evergreen was about to do exactly as Peri asked but was a little distracted by Lunti's report. But she relayed Peri's questions to the Teddiursa in Pokémon language anyway. She knelt down to the Teddiursa's level. [We're here to help, my little friend, or, uh... Teddiursa-san. We're here to bring you back to your mother! We want to know if you know where your kidnappers are headed. Can you tell us?] Maria simply stood behind, watching the conversation unfold.
@Tala Is Eternal @122 Generation @Jupjami @ChocoChicken They're headed to the town on the other side of the forest. the Teddiursa explained. Every night they raid the poor town--I don't know how the townsfolk stand it!
[The town?] Evergreen said. [That's just not right! Let's see if we can do something about it.] Watching Pachi comfort the Teddiursa, Evergreen nodded and reiterated the cub's information to the group. Do we have a duty to stop these bandits? she said telepathically. "I'm all for that. I didn't count on our quest turning into this though." Maria scratched her head. "I guess the little girl couldn't afford it? Or she didn't count on this happening?"
@Tala Is Eternal @122 Generation @Jupjami @ChocoChicken "Not every bill is as open and shut as it first appears. " Ash muses. "Sometimes the whole story is more complicated."
@Tala Is Eternal @122 Generation @Jupjami @ChocoChicken Brock managed to pick the lock with an old fishing hook. "There...let's get you home." he assured the Teddiursa as the door opened.
Mel sudden thought for a momeny. "Daddy can Pachi and I bring him home while you all search for thise bandits?" Pachi still hang on teddyursa
@Tala Is Eternal @122 Generation @Jupjami @ChocoChicken Brock nodded. "That may be the better choice, here. We don't know just how powerful these bandits are." "Bandits can be deceptively powerful." Ash agreed
Should one of us go and escort them, just in case? Evergreen asked. "That would mean one less able fighting member," Maria said. "I'm sure Mel can take care of herself. Don't tell me you're doing that because you're attached to Kiri-" Shh! Evergreen interrupted, her face becoming pink. Alright, you win.
Mel lookrd one last gaze to Maria and Evergreen wondering if she said anything. "I will be fine. Im strong" she smiled as she ran off leaving everyone behind her
@Tala Is Eternal @122 Generation @Jupjami @ChocoChicken The group made a camp near the bandit camp to plan their ambush. The first order of business was rescue any more innocents--be they human or Pokémon.
"Does anyone know where they need to return to?" Peri looked over at the cages. "Even if we set them free right now, or soon, they might not know where to return."
