"Evergreen's point stands. If they're so easy to deal with missing one group, albeit a powerful one..." Peri crossed his arms. "It doesn't feel right."
@Tala Is Eternal @122 Generation @Jupjami @ChocoChicken "What approach should we take, here?" Brock asks. "Preferably one with minimal innocent casualties."
Maria rubbed her head. She wasn't cut out for strategic thinking. If only Leon were around, maybe he would have had a better idea. Evergreen appeared to have a better sense of mind. It is possible that the bandits can function independently. If we take out the head, then they might simply divide and conquer. Hmm... "But if you wanted to keep casualties to a minimum, then you could always try to get them in one fell swoop," Maria suggested. "Like catching Magikarp."
"What if we split up in large enough groups that we'd still be safe, and then try to lead them into choke points or something like that? If we can take down each group separately and even get them into a disadvantage... you get the idea." Peri gestured in the air as he spoke, freezing up at the last sentence.
@Tala Is Eternal @122 Generation @Jupjami @ChocoChicken Brock listened as everyone made their case. "One of the cornerstones of battle is know they enemy. So maybe a strategy could emerge if we study what we're up against."
Pachi and Mel sudden walked to the center of the group. "How about a bait to lead them away from the Pokémon. While some fight the rest can rescue. As we cant really fight we offer to be the bait"
@Tala Is Eternal @122 Generation @Jupjami @ChocoChicken "You're offering to do something very brave, but risky." Brock cautioned. "What if something happens to you? I don't wan to to get us or any innocents hurt..."
"Mel sure wants to prove she's a fighter," Maria said, then muttered, "just like her cousin. Anyways, Peri has a point. it might work that if we take them out one by one, as if in waves, we might survive. Their leader might realise too late to organise." I can offer to scout the enemy, Evergreen offered. Or lead some of them to us.
@Tala Is Eternal @122 Generation @Jupjami @ChocoChicken Brock showed Evergreen the map with the locations of the seemingly hundreds of hideouts. "Can you attune yourself to this map?"
Evergreen was intimidated at first, but she settled down. "I... I think so. What shall I do? Lead them to us?" The number of hideouts was intimidating.
@Tala Is Eternal @122 Generation @Jupjami @ChocoChicken "Try to find the best place for us to start looking." Brock explains. "It looks intimidating, but finding the best place to start will help."
I'll do what I can. Evergreen replied. "What shall we do in the meantime?" Maria asked. "Prepare for battle, or something?"
"If I remember, we'll have a few forest Pokémon on our side, too, to help set traps. If we can start setting up traps, ambushes, or choke points where we can get them, we could have an advantage," Peri replied.
@Tala Is Eternal @122 Generation @Jupjami @ChocoChicken "That's a great point." Brock smiled. "The forest Pokémon would likely know the best spots to put ambush points and traps...."
I'll be back, Evergreen said and then headed off to the forest, leaving her hat with Maria. Maria put Evergreen's sunhat in her satchel. "Right, then we should talk with these Pokémon. If there's time, we can lead one camp after another into the trap, and have he knights deal with them after." Evergreen, with the map fresh in her head, went about scouting the camps.
@Tala Is Eternal @122 Generation @Jupjami @ChocoChicken Many of them were clustered in locations near a town or village. This way, bandits did not have far to go if they wanted to raid.
Evergreen more or less looked like a normal civilian whose choice of clothes were out of place. And she couldn't do much to hide without her sunhat either. Upon going to the first camp she found, Evergreen realised there was more than just one camp in the area.
Mel and Pachi sat down. She felt she couldnt help them at all. She started thinking that this whole adventure wasnt good for hear. Even thinking to get back to her cousin. She did listen to everyone. As she sat down with Pachi on her lap
@Tala Is Eternal @122 Generation @Jupjami @ChocoChicken Thankfully, many of the camp's owners were away raiding. Those whose occupants were sleeping now would likely be out raiding towns later in the night
Alright. So it looks like this one is clear, Evergreen thought. It looks like some are away but they might come back. In any case, we could ambush them, but we don't want anyone in the town harmed either. She looked for a nearby town, and spotted one in the distance.
