The air became thinner as the orc caves were in plain sight. While Evergreen was still absorbed in the tale, Maria wondered what the orcs would look like.
@ChocoChicken @Fchicken77 @ShireHime @Jupjami @122 Generation @Tala Brock narrates "As soon as Moltres heard her master’s voice she shook her feathers, making her feathers shine brighter than ever. She danced in her cage, and sang so beautifully, the king was immediately healed, and it was as if a great weight had been lifted off his heart. Moltres again burst into song..." With that, Misty sings Gatrandis favel, secret, edena.... Emusto ronzen fine el balaziis... Katoradis favel siicletu edena... Emusto koron zen fine, si... Applause fills the air as the last note fades away. "This so moved the king that he jumped from bed, and embraced the disguised prince out of sheer euphoria and gratitude." Brock goes on. “Now, teach me how to heal this beautiful maiden my sons brought back with them; she will not speak a word, her beautiful hair remains uncared for, and her tears fall night and day.” he pleads as the king. “If Your Majesty will allow me to say a few words to her, it may be the means of making her happy again.” Ash assures an imagined person as Prince Brian.
Well...? Did they end up together? Evergreen's voice was clearly optimistic. Maria kept tapping her katana.
And, of course, Brian is successful, isn't he? Peri was tense now - but not from the story. He allowed his thoughts to drift into the tale, yes, but the rest of him was focused on the mountains.
@ChocoChicken @Fchicken77 @ShireHime @Jupjami @122 Generation @Tala The king led the way to her apartments, and the disguised prince, taking her hand, said..." Brock went on “Grieve no more, Christine--your rightful groom is home.” Ash smiles as Prince Brian. "Christine knew him right away, and with a cry of joy threw herself into his arms." Brock continues. "This astonished the king, and he could not for the life of him think how a stable boy could address a princess as his 'dear bride.' Prince Brian then revealed himself to his father, and told him the truth. Christine in turn told how the wicked brothers had threatened to kill her if she betrayed them. As for the brothers, they shook from head to toe, and trembled like leaves in the wind. The furious king ordered them banished from the land for lying to him, never to return on pain of death." He concludes "And so, Prince Brian married the beautiful Christine, and the king gave him half of his kingdom as a wedding present. When the time came for the old king to join Arceus in heaven, Prince Brian ascended to the throne, and lived happily with his beloved Christine for many years." He noticed the entrance to the cave in the distance. "And here we are."
"Oh. Finally!" Maria muttered. "Um, I need a minute to catch my breath... and does anyone have any water?" Although Evergreen should have been feeling nervous given the sight of the orc cave, the tale ended on a light note, and Mel's emotions were infectious. Heh... Let's see what we'll find in these caves... The Gardevoir, however, was really nervous deep down.
@122 Generation Serena hurried over with a water bottle. "Here...drink as much as you need." The bottle was a magical bottle, so it would never run out of clean and fresh water.
Kiseki and Mina stood with the rest of the group in front of the cave's entrance. It looked dark and grueling, but Kiseki was ready for anything that the world was planning to throw towards her. The two had been so focused on the cave that they didn't really have enough time to think. They only had time to catch their breaths and recover from the long walk,
@ChocoChicken @Fchicken77 @ShireHime @Jupjami @122 Generation @Tala (waiting on everyone's thoughts before we go in)
"Oh. Thank you!" Maria said, as she took the bottle gratefully. "I'm going to pass out if I don't have some of this." She took a mouthful of water and drank from the bottle, and then gave the bottle to Evergreen, who was still standing nervously near the cave entrance. "You okay, Evergreen?" To be honest, not really. It's been a while since we saw combat, you know. Evergreen said while drinking from the bottle at the same time. Who knows how many orcs are in there? I mean, they made their home out here in the mountains! She finished drinking from the bottle and offered it to anyone else who might be thirsty.
@122 Generation "Orcs are more powerful than kobolds and goblins." Brock explained. "But they're not as powerful as their cousins the trolls."
Peri's face took on a determined expression. The first fight is upon us. Now was the time their roles as Brock's protector would really come in. He raised his weapon, ready to fire at any moment.
@ChocoChicken @Fchicken77 @ShireHime @Jupjami @122 Generation @Tala Serena whispered an incantation, conjuring a burst of flame on a stick for a magical torch. "There...now we can see where we're going in the cave." "Added bonus: an enchanted torch never goes out until you want it to go out." Ash smiles.
"So, we're actually exploring inside these mountains," Maria remarked. She was glad she had her oversized cloak with her, as it did keep her warm in spite of Serena's torch. Nevertheless, she kept a grip on the handle of her katana just in case of an ambush. So... Is there a strategy to remove these orcs? Evergreen wondered.
@122 Generation "We do not want to engage them--this is why we are infiltrating now." Serena explains. "Goblins and kobolds are one thing, but orcs are more powerful. "And trolls in turn are more powerful than orcs." Brock adds. An idea occurs to him. "SAY..."
Mel shivered a little. She was glad she was holding Mistt hand. Kirito looked up. "Hold on. Melissa shouldnt exploring here. Its way to dangerous." Mel turned hr head. "I can take carenof myself." She said mad. "You are way to young" he said mad
"What is it?" Maria tugged on Brock's hand. Evergreen kept an eye on Kirito and Mel, though. Just seeing how they talked and reacted did make them seem like cousins than anything. But they're just as angry as the Kirito I know. Hmm... Some things don't change, the Gardevoir thought.
