Group RP Pokemon Legends: The Dragon Pearls and the White Ghost (IC thread)

At one corner of Twin Leaf Village, a pair of adventurers came out from the Blue Moon Guild building. The older girl, Oyama Fumiko, had just finished a small quest that she took alongside her much bigger one: tracking the White Ghost down. She originally had to look for a certain portrait belonging to the client... only to find it awfully destroyed. That's why she had to hire a traveling painter from Smeargle Colours, Kokuo Nagisa, to try recreating the portrait. And luckily for them both, Fumiko's client took it well.

"We're now looking for Pearl Deerling, right?" Nagisa signed to his client-turned-partner. Yes, he's mute. Had to rely on sign language to "talk".

"Yep, Pearl Deerling," Fumiko confirmed. Unlike Nagisa, she could talk normally. Her knowledge of sign language mainly came from that one elective class back in Mitama School, and she was beyond delighted at the chance of applying it in real life.

 

At another part of Twin Leaf Village, another pair of adventures had arrived from a certain city to the north of the village. They were an odd couple but strangely looked as if they were an ideal one. There was a blue-haired boy and a red-haired girl, the former who looked tired and uncaring while the latter was clinging onto his left arm. They were both students of Gekkou School and their uniforms proved it, albeit they did bring a change of clothes in their schoolbags too, along with other supplies, including notebooks and pencils.

"The client should be around here somewhere!" Kotone Shiomi said cheerfully.

"You're really into this," Makoto Yuki replied, not so cheerfully.

Behind them, Kotone's Bellossom, Belle, could only smile at them. The pair was a travelling comedy.

 

"Come to think of it..." Fumiko took out one of her (anonymous) mails from her bag and showed it to Nagisa:

Message

To: Ms. Oyama

Don't know where to start? Ask Pearl Deerling. She might know what to do even if you ask her with sign. But here's the catch: she's a ninja. If you were one, where would you hide at?

PS: Once you get this message, give me a lime ribbon. You can tie it to the messenger's foot.

And then Nagisa raised an eyebrow at the message for several reasons. First, the sender didn't sign the mail whatsoever, yet their mail sounded legit enough (though a bit cryptic) considering their description of Pearl Deerling matched what they both got from a fellow Blue Moon Guild member. Second, they didn't ask for a reply or anything, just... what, a ribbon?

"Are you sure this guy is even trusty?" the brunet (like "brunette" but male version) wondered. Again, via sign. Fumiko simply nodded in response. "I thought I've seen this handwriting long ago..." her voice trailed off, much to Nagisa's confusion.

"Eh, whatever," Fumiko shrugged. "Either way, we prolly should ask a-- round?" she proposed (or at least, tried to) only to find her mute partner walking straight to a bamboo grove outside of town.

"Nagisa?" the young lady called out. "I need a break," he signed in response and briskly walked away. Welp, okay, Fumiko sighed as she followed Nagisa's lead.

(Quick question to the host: is Pearl Deerling hiding her aura right now?)

 

As soon as the two arrived at the bamboo grove, Nagisa quickly made himself comfortable and so did their three Pokémon: Luchabull the Hawlucha, Junaiper the Decidueye, and Emina the Smeargle. Fumiko, however, sensed a foreign-ish (?) aura nearby. Is it just me or... have we got company already?

 

Meanwhile, in the other direction, Kotone, Makoto, and Belle were walking around town in the hopes of locating the person who posted the job application. The town wasn't very big, so how hard could it be to find just one individual?

 

Seeing the three Pokémon happily chattering with each other, it struck Nagisa with a random bout of inspiration. He pulled out his paintbrush and canvas (the proper kind, of course) and started to work on his new painting.

Just when Fumiko was about to investigate the foreign aura, a random Fletchling came to her with a mail. And as expected, it was from her anonymous tipper.

To: Ms. Oyama

Seems like it's not just you who are looking for the Pearl Deerling. I passed by Gekkou School for long enough to hear that two of its students are looking for her too. A blue-haired boy and a redhead girl. Didn't get to catch their names, though.

PS: Red ribbon for this info. Same deal as last time.

Still chuckling at the tipper's weird choice of expected response, Fumiko tied the requested red ribbon on one of the Fletchling's legs and sent them off. She pocketed the newly-received mail and started to work on her aura sensing.

(To @122 Generation: I think both Wave and I are assuming that your kiddos don't know about this yet:

Maybe have Kotone ask random people in town?)

 

(Probably a good idea, and yes, we're running with the same assumption)

"Let's be honest, Kotone. You don't know who we're looking for," Makoto finally concluded.

"How smart you are, Mako! Then let's ask random people in town! I'm sure we'll find the right person soon!" Kotone replied. She reacted by unceremoniously dragging Makoto around asking the locals for information. She didn't mind the strange looks people were giving her. What mattered was looking for the right person. The thing was, however, Kotone didn't know the person's name.

Whereas Makoto already knew before they had departed the school. "We're looking for Pearl Deerling," he muttered.

 

Thanks to her aura sensing ability, Fumiko managed to locate the third human aura (the first was her own purple aura and the second was Nagisa's silver one with a dash of rainbow) in the grove. She briskly walked up to the rows of bamboo trees and, much to Luchabull's surprise, knocked on it like she would knock on a door. "Excuse me," the blonde called out. "Anybody home?"

 

The sudden reveal surprised Nagisa to the point of him nearly jumped from his seat and almost scattered his painting equipments. It took him awhile until he gathered his things and hesitantly signed, "Who?"

And yes, Fumiko had the same question. "Uh... your hokage asked you to watch for who?" she asked for clarification.

(And now I'm wondering how the townsfolk would react to 122's side of the story...)

 

(I take it we're waiting for 122's continuation of that? Or... would you rather have a random townfolk to direct the Gekkou duo?)
