Group RP Pokemon Legends: The Phoenix and the Demon Emperor (IC thread)

Now that the group had arrived at the inn, both Kaede and Hideki plopped on the chairs in the common room. The former decided to let Belle go as her arm had finally given up.

"So... what were you two talking about back there?" Hideki asked both Kaede and Mio. However, the former turned to the latter as she mentioned this guy named Brock whose musical and archery skills were said to be... legendary.

 

Belle made her way to Makoto who was already trying to sleep away on one of the chairs. [You can't sleep all day, buddy!] she squeaked.

Kotone had gone to grab some food for Kaede. It was a way of her saying thanks for carrying Belle the whole trip. "Here you go, Kaede-chan!" she said, offering her rice bowl with curry. "Thanks for carrying Belle, by the way!" Never mind that she had budged in front of Hideki to give Kaede the bowl.

 

Luckily for Kotone, her position was closer to Kaede than to Hideki, so she didn't even need to budge in front of him to begin with. "Ah, thank you," Kaede gratefully accepted the rice bowl and started to eat it. She was hungry, after all.

"Silver Town, Cragspur..." Hideki muttered with a thoughtful look. "It's actually even norther past Greenleaf and Ignis. Cyan chi people better get ready in case of heat waves," he warned. Sure, he and Kaede knew each other's elements, but the same cannot be said for everyone else. Plus, ice-type counts as cyan chi, so yeah...

 

Kotone also went to grab a rice bowl and started to eat. Turning to Makoto, she grinned. “Looks like some of us will feel the heat, as Mori-kin said! You’ll be okay, right, Mako?”

Makoto looked like he was about to doze off, but had his leg shaken by Belle.

 

As for Kaede, she shuddered a little at the notion of "heat waves". Ice-type is weak to fire-type, after all. Note to self, get a heatproof cloak or something next time we get to a market, she thought in case her Potions of Cold was not enough.

But then her eyes lit up upon the mention of Nixtorm. It had been her home back in her timeline albeit with different placements. So Nixtorm here is closer to Cragspur rather than Dragnor. Huh.

 

Kotone then went to grab a rice bowl for Makoto too. “Sounds like a useful ally. We should go convince him!” she said. Then she poked Makoto’s head. “You can take the heat, can you?”

“I don’t care,” Makoto said.

Kotone pushed the rice bowl into Makoto’s hands, who ate it reluctantly. Then Kotone picked up Belle and nudged Kaede with her free elbow. “Soooooo, what’s on your mind?”

 

"Hm?" Kotone's nudge snapped Kaede back to reality. "Actually, I fare better in cold than in heat, so Nixtorm sounds like heaven to me. I just hope my Potions of Cold stock is enough for Ignis..." the younger girl confessed. Not to mention ice-type's weaknesses too...

Meanwhile, Hideki went to get two rice bowls -- one for Mio and one for himself. It wouldn't be fair to leave one person hungry while everyone else were eating, after all.

 

Kotone grinned still. "You sound exactly like Mako-chan. He could use some Potion of Cold too, I bet!" Putting Belle down, she continued digging into her rice bowl at speed, with Makoto enjoying his at a steady pace. Then Kotone looked up. "So, I suppose we should have a good night's rest before we head to Ignis!"

Then Kotone ate even faster, so fast that her bowl was empty within a minute, which made Belle shake her head. "I'm done!" Kotone said, putting down her bowl, and then looked at Makoto, as if expecting him to eat faster. But he wasn't even a quarter way through his bowl.

 

"Really? Yuki's an ice-type too?" Kaede blurted out only to cover her mouth in embarrassment afterward. The notion of humans with Pokémon types might sound weird in this era. "I mean, he's a cyan chi user too?" she quickly corrected herself.

 

"Of course!" Kotone said, not really noticing Kaede's effort to correct her words and thought that she was saying it in one sentence. "He uses cyan chi, yes, and he's always as cold as ice. But I know deep deep deep down, he's always smiling, like me! Right, Mako-chan?"

Unlike Kotone, Makoto carefully processed Kaede's words through his head, as well as the manner of how she spoke. Kaede would not have said 'cyan chi' if she already knew the difference between that and 'ice-type'. What exactly was she eluding to? However, he shrugged and continued to eat through his rice bowl, his focus still on the food. His eyes were tired.

Belle yawned.

 

"O-oh. Glad I'm not alone tho," Kaede muttered before getting back to eating her rice bowl. If Makoto were in her timeline, he would've been an ice-type as well.

Hearing Kaede's confession and seeing Makoto mulling over what she had just said, Hideki decided to confess to the latter (and maybe Mio, if she heard him). "If you're curious, I was the one who told Kaede about chi in general," he whispered. "Because in her time, the chi we all know and love has evolved into Pokémon types in humans over the centuries."

 

"..." Makoto put down his rice bowl. "That's hard to conceive. So humans would possess the same qualities as the chi itself. Does that mean she also doesn't just possess chi but rather it's integrated in her."

Neither did Kotone hear that, as she had also followed Mio to the bedrooms with Belle for bed. And she also deliberately left her bowl with Makoto for him to pick up, knowing he would do exactly that.

 

"Well, perhaps?" Hideki shrugged. "She did say that humans in her era can only have up to two elemental types, though."

That said, both Hideki and Kaede had eventually finished their meals and went to bed.

 

As usual, Hideki was quite an early bird. He could be seen in the common room, mulling over everyone's elements. Kaede had told him about her being an ice-type (and by extension, having cyan chi) and Kotone had mentioned Makoto having cyan chi as well last night. Hideki himself has lavender and silver chi which Kaede might pass off as a flying/normal-type. But how about Kotone and Mio?
