Group RP Pokemon Legends: The Phoenix and the Demon Emperor (IC thread)

(I was running with the assumption that Kotone was speaking to Kaede’s question directly, in spite of Hideki’s remark)

Makoto looked rather unfazed and stood up. He completely ignored Kotone and went to speak with Kaede instead, noticing her facial expression. “What did she do to you now?” he quietly said, enough Kotone couldn’t hear. He also yawned.

 

(Eh, it happens. That's what you get for not fully hearing everything. *glares at Kotone*)

Oookay, now Makoto's concerned. At least it was true that when a quiet person speaks, it has to be a serious thing. "Eh. It's not really about Shiomi," Kaede sweatdropped. "We've heard rumors about Nobunaga returning and it made me wonder 'Is it why I even got here?'. I mean, I'm not even from this timeline," she blurted (almost?) everything in her mind.

"One question, though," Hideki interjected, now that he had something he wanted to ask Makoto. "How the heck did you deal with Shiomi's antics anyway?" he whispered a question, though Kaede (who was nearby) still could hear him.

 

"Nobunaga returning...?" The faintest of fear and anger showed briefly on Makoto's eyes, but it went away quickly. He caught Kaede's 'blurting'. "Even if you're not from this timeline... Maybe it's no coincidence that you being here happens to come at the same time as Nobunaga returning. And now you happen to come when Mio-san needs help. But let's not assume the truth. Maybe you'll find your answer later on."

He then looked at Hideki, and quietly answered him. "How do I deal with Kotone's antics? I don't. It's Kotone who's trying to 'brighten my day', whatever that means. She spends half her time trying to get a reaction from me."

 

Both Kaede and Hideki nodded at their respective answers. In Kaede's case, she hoped to get everything to make sense sooner or later. And in Hideki's case, he was envious of Makoto's absolute calmness (?) considering the latter's companion's antics had been driving the former insane.

That said, both of them decided to call it a day. A rather tiring day, to be exact.

Kotone was already up and running, having dressed in her school clothes once more. After she has packed her things, she went to go wake up Makoto at his room. Belle had decided to go to the inn lobby and rest by the window, taking in the morning sunshine.

 

(One question before continuing: do everyone have their own rooms? Or do same-gendered folks share a room?)

 

As for Kaede, she got herself prepared and went to the inn lobby to find Hideki and Belle already there. The guy's been an early bird, after all. "Yo," he greeted her. "Dreamin' about that voice again?" The young man asked only for his companion to shrug. "Not for now, I think," Kaede replied.

 

Belle looked at Kaede and greeted her with a wave, raising her small arm. She was getting plenty of energy from the sun like this, and the more she stayed in the sun, the more energised she was.

Makoto was still sleeping soundly but was gently shaken awake by his redhead classmate. When he opened his eyes, he was greeted by Kotone smiling at him up close. "Kotone...?"

"Good morning, Mako-chan!" Kotone said. "Time to get up!" Then she left the room immediately and went to join the others in the lobby.

Makoto groaned and slowly got out of bed.

 

Seeing Belle greeting her, Kaede waved back with a smile. She had been getting a pleasant vibe from this Bellossom since yesterday. So did Hideki, though he didn't say anything about it.

And then there's Mio, studying a map of Ransei at the other part of the lobby. Kaede immediately joined her as she hadn't fully get the gist of this Ransei.

(Fun fact: Kaede woke up a little bit after Mio had finished her morning prayers.)

 

Belle smiled warmly back at Kaede. Sooner or later, Kotone had burst into the lobby. “Good morning, everyone!” she said in a loud and cheerful voice. Then she went to have breakfast. Belle shook her head. It was as if Kotone was deliberately trying to embarrass herself and was proud of it.

Moments later, Makoto arrived, quiet as always. He had brought his and Kotone’s belongings with him, and yawned while he went to have breakfast too. Unlike Kotone, he tried to stay inconspicuous.

 

(Yeah, sure.)

 

Kotone happily walked on the path with her belongings and Belle waking alongside her. Kotone looked especially carefree. Whereas Makoto looked bored.

Belle wondered what kind of a pair they were.

 

Kaede could be seen walking a bit closer to Mio. Considering her predicament, she didn't want to lose her new friends' tracks here. And as for Hideki, he walked behind everyone else, staying vigilant lest the group would be ambushed from their backs.

Little did they know that a certain Pidgeot was watching them from the sky.
