    The land of Ransei...a land of Pokémon, warriors, magic, mystery, and the ties that bind them all. One of its most revered heroes is Taki, the young warrior that brought down the ruthless warlord Nobunaga, and united what was then seventeen kingdoms, an event known as the Unification War. Although there are now eighteen kingdoms in the land, all hail Taki as a hero, and many events of her quest to unite the kingdoms are now national holidays.

    But no one in Ransei realized that Nobunaga had simply laid low for a while after his defeat, plotting his revenge. When the land of Ransei was thrown into turmoil thanks to an uptick in monsters, or yokai, as they are called in this world, Nobunaga saw his chance.

    Our story tells the tale of Mio, a miko who receives a terrifying vision of a demon possessing the Empress, and a phoenix casting out the demon. Believing she could be the phoenix in her vision, she sets out on a long journey to the Aiiro City alongside a band of warrior companions. After a long quest battling yokai and rogue warlords, the group reaches the Airo City to discover Nobunaga has proclaimed himself emperor.

    Angered, Mio decided to fight back, defeating Nobunaga and restoring the empress to the throne. She set out to look for as many heroes as she could find to help her on her perilous quest.

    You play one of the heroes Mio has scouted--will you succeed in defeating Nobunaga, and restoring peace to Ransei?

    If you need ideas for sect names or martial art names, check here (check all the two word templates for best results. You can also generate a nickname for your character, if you wish)
    If you just need martial art names, look here--try to keep them somewhat realistic sounding, and Pokemonize accordingly)

    Ended up going with two characters at once -- the girl is reused from another RP, the boy is a brand new one.

    Name: Kaede Yukimura (click here for her future self's bio)
    Age: 14
    Appearance: Standing at the average side for girls her age, Kaede has pale skin, light blue eyes and long hair with the same color reflecting her icy powers. She was born frail, but got stronger as she grew up. She used to wear simple kimonos for everyday use and more elaborate ones for formal events back home. But for this adventure, she dons a simple blue dress with her hair tied in a ponytail.
    Personality / Backstory: Kaede, a free-spirited girl trapped in obligations, is a time traveler from the future Ransei where magic and technology practically coexist with the former manifested as Pokémon types in humans. She did so through a dream in which she answered a mysterious plea for help. And by the time she woke up, Kaede was already in the past version of Ransei.
    Pokémon: None so far, though she has an easier time bonding with ice-type Pokémon
    Preferred styles:
    • Cyan chi manifested as ice-type Pokémon moves
      • Interestingly, it's the only chi Kaede can use -- she can't even use water spells.
    • Unarmed (also serves as a basis for her physically-oriented ice-type moves)
    • Will learn how to wield a spear (and by extension, Glacial Lance)
      • Or already did, depending on the starting point.
      • Kaede will need elemental spears for her non-ice elemental attacks.
    School / Sect: Wandering warrior since she is a time traveler

    Age: 17
    Appearance: Being slightly shorter than average boys of his age, Hideki has fair skin, long, blonde hair tied in a ponytail, and lavender eyes reflecting his aerial powers. He currently sports the Braviary Blades uniform: a fighter outfit with Braviary's color schemes.

    Personality / Backstory: Born and raised in Avia, Hideki is highly attuned to his aerial ones to the point that he can fly on his own. He first joined the Braviary Blades at the tender age of 14 upon showing interest on the path of warriors and worked his way up. And then, three years later, he was scouted to help Mio out on his sect's behalf.
    Pokémon: Keito (a.k.a. K-T) the female Pidgeot
    Preferred styles:
    • Lavender chi manifested as flying-type Pokémon moves and other wind spells (including weapon enchantments)
    • Silver chi manifested as normal-type Pokémon moves and other non-elemental spells

    • Bow (in case going melee is too dangerous)

    • Ice Body: Basically Kaede's healing factor that only works under the hailstorm's effects.
    • Refrigerate: Kaede gains access to normal-type attacks, but they all turn into ice-type ones when she uses them. So far this ability only kicks in when she uses Sonic Boom with her Glacial Lance. Locked

    Active (Moves)
    • Aurora Veil: Kaede summons a veil of rainbow aura that reduces damage directed to her (and her allies, if any) up to 5 turns, effectively serving as both Reflect and Light Screen in one pack. This move only works in hailstorm, however.
    • Freeze-Dry: Kaede releases a gust of cold air from her palms, rapidly cooling her foes. This move is super effective to Water-type.
    • Powder Snow: Kaede blows a chilling gust of powdery snow like how she would blow a kiss.
    • Ice Beam: Kaede shoots an icy-cold beam of energy that may freeze her target.
    • Blizzard: Kaede summons a howling blizzard to strike her opponent. This move reaches its maximum accuracy (read: never misses) in hailstorm.
    • Freezy Frost: Kaede focuses her power to form a crystal made of cold frozen haze at her opponent.
    • Ice Punch: Kaede punches her target with an icy fist. May leave the target frozen. Locked
    • Triple Axel: Kaede launches a consecutive three-kick attack that becomes more powerful with each successful hit. Locked
    • Glacial Lance: Kaede summons her blizzard-cloaked icicle spear for later use. Locked
    • Sonic Boom: Kaede readies a spear and used it to launch a destructive shockwave at her enemies. Its element depends on the spear used, hence Refrigerate only kicking in when coupled with Glacial Lance. Locked

    If you can try to make it work (and hopefully not break any rules), go for it! It may be worth checking the rules to be sure.

    You start with 1000 kin (the currency in this world)

    Here's a (very fast) profile of Mio:

    Character's name: Mio
    Character's age: 16
    Character's physical appearance: Shoulder length black hair, green eyes; stands 5'3" (1.63 m). with a surprisingly athletic build. Is usually in her ceremonial garb, but has a number of different clothes for disguise.
    Character's personality/known history: Mio is a kind and yet softspoken person with a way with words--people flock to the Temple of the Thousand Summers to hear one of her sermons. But she can and will fight if innocents are in danger, preferring to use the staff commonly used by monks and miko, the hamayumi (sacred bow), and her divine spells. Little did she know, a nightmare would spur her on a long journey, and she would awaken as a heroine.

    My current avatar seems accurate enough what my characters look like. Clothes are a bit different of course.

    Name: Makoto Yuki
    Age: 16
    Appearance: light build with pale complexion; with unkept dark blue hair that covers his right eye, and pale blue eyes
    Personality/known history: Makoto tends to be calm, reserved, and of few words. His parents died in the previous war and has since grew up never smiling. Needless to say he doesn't care for anything; friends, Pokémon, or companionship in general. He is a diligent student, despite sleeping in class half the time, and neither will he hesitate to help others despite his personality. He took up the offer to help Mio when the opportunity was posted at his school.

    Age: 16
    Appearance: light build with pale skin; with auburn hair tied up in a high ponytail and red eyes
    Personality/known history: Practically Makoto's opposite, Kotone is bubbly, social, and cheerful. Whereas Makoto is keen to stay quiet, Kotone would be speaking up and isn't afraid to. She cares about everyone around her, even possessing empathy for her friends and enemies (though she knows the line if there is one). And she likes following Makoto wherever he goes, which was how she ended up helping Mio.
