@Sugar (Remember that unless you know the staff or student well, you can't just walk into a Closet--either Alyssa or Misty has to send an invite.)
(Alright, on it.) Alyssa took a piece of paper and pen from her purse and began to write a formal invite to Misty. She read it over twice just to make sure she didn't sound needy. When she was done, she sealed the invite in the envelope she had on hand, walked to the campus post office and dropped it off. Now all she had to o was wait.
@Sugar (You should expect an answer in 12 to 72 hours--if you wait longer than that, you are allowed to send a reminder note)
@Sugar By the time the next day came, an envelope with a Cascade Badge sticker had arrived by Alyssa's closet. In addition, a Boulder Badge sealed envelope had arrived too--Brock had wanted to join in the conversation and de-mystify promoting, as well as the do's and don't's of promotion
Alyssa was a little bit surprised to see a double invitation on her closet floor. Still, she had a lot to learn and could spend no time sitting around doing nothing. She pulled herself together and took off for Misty's closet.
@Sugar Even though the day was gray and cloudy outside, Misty's Closet was warm and inviting. "Come on in..." Misty smiled as she finished cleaning up from breakfast. "Brock's coming too, so I'm doing a little tidying before he gets here."
"You picked a perfect day to have this meeting; it's prety bleak outside. Also thanks for offering to break down everything I need to know before my big performance." Alyssa took a seat on the nearby couch.
@Sugar A knock came at the door some moments later--Brock had arrived with some drinks and snacks. Once everyone was settled, Misty kicked off the discussion. "Now...what do you want to learn about promotion first?" "Keep in mind that we will be covering this in our respective classes once classes resume Monday, so we're not going to spoil everything we plan to cover." Brock cautioned.
Alyssa twiddled her thumbs for a while, trying to think of what she wanted to learn first, but then it hit her. What kind of reaction to promotion should one expect? "What I want to know in particular is what kind of reaction from the fans I should be getting."
@Sugar "Of course you want the fans to be excited, but there are many ways to go about building excitement." Misty began. "That being said, you don't want to cause anger, fear, or panic when your main goal is to build excitement." Brock cautioned. "You'll learn more about promotions gone horribly wrong when classes resume."
Alyssa took down everything she had heard up to this point. Every little piece of information was important and she couldn't afford to miss any of it. She was curious about how wrong a promotion could go wrong too to make sure she didn't make the same mistakes.
@Sugar "What channels are you planning to use?" Misty wondered. "What works for print may not work for the radio, what works for radio may not work for TV... "...and what works for TV may not work for social media." Brock agreed. "You don't just make a viral video." Misty went on. "Most viral videos are made without the creator knowing it's going to be a hit. That, and the online community will let you know in no uncertain terms if you're trying too hard."
Once again Alyssa took down an abundance of notes, especially which channels she was going to use. She had plans of reaching out to Johto if that was possible while also having support in Kanto as well.
