@Sugar Getting new paints was a good idea--most of Alyssa's old paints were dried up, or were close to doing so. Her brushes were also fairly worn. All told, everything added up to 4000 credits ($40)
Alyssa paid her money and went into her merry way. She went back to her closet, where Angie still was hanging around.
@Sugar Before long, a beautiful portrait of Alyssa was ready. The paints and brushes were high quality, and it showed.
"You look beautiful Alyssa. I can't even tell you which one is the real you." She has to laugh at such a comment.
@Sugar A poster on the wall advertised a campus-wide art show. All media, subjects (within reason), and skill levels were welcome, with prizes for the best in each division...
Alyssa looked down at the potrait and back at the poster. "Well, looks like we're going to an at show to show you off. Hope it goes well."
@Sugar There was no fee to enter the show. Entrants filled out a card with their info and a little about the pieces they were entering.
(Martine returns for a cameo!) There was a commotion going on in the campus village, not far from the grocery store where Martine had just left, which concerned the poster. Seeing that the campus-wide show was offering prizes on the line, Martine went to get a closer look at what they might be (at least, what was listed on the poster).
@122 Generation The top three would get 100,000 credits ($10,000 dollars), a large gift basket of their preferred media, and other nice items. There were vacations and special experiences for the top winners overall
"Ten thousand dollars? I can buy that expensive coord at Starlight Rouge. The name escapes me, but you know exactly what I mean. We'll see how I do here."
@Sugar The main rule was that you had to enter something totally new for most of the divisions. However, you could enter previously created art in some divisions.
"Okay, we're going to the top today. I'm making my return to painting right here, right now. This is the place and time."
"Very interesting..." Martine muttered. "What could I do with ten thousand Poké? Oh... I know." She hadn't forgotten that she had some debts to pay back at Relifac-le-Haut (Cyllage City), and why she was still studying here. Some extra cash would help her out of her predicament.
