@Sugar @122 Generation "Good, cause you'll meet our combined fury if you do." Misty warned as Brock looked over the plate. "If I may taste test Her Majesty's snack?" Brock asked Alyssa in character.
@Sugar @122 Generation "We wouldn't want some dastardly figure to poison someone as beautiful as you..." Brock replied. After looking over the plate for a suitable cheese, he ate a small mozzarella ball. "Nope, no poison--it's safe." he reported after a few tense seconds.
@Sugar @122 Generation "What did I tell you? These three have you as their utmost concern." the boy playing Captain Vernet smiled.
@Sugar @122 Generation The lights went down over a tense stinger. "Captain Vernet left the throne room in high spirits--he was going to kill two Pidgeys with one stone by sending our heroes and Caliste on a journey to the middle of nowhere." Melody narrated. "With them out of the way, he could take over the throne without opposition!"
@Sugar @122 Generation A slow, tense melody began as the lights came up on the secret hideout. I, once had a dream that the people obeyed... the boy playing Captain Vernet sang as he walked in the scene. Listened, to my every word and commands from the dark... I, want them to bow down and call me the king... First I'll call this land mine, then tomorrow, the world! The people, they are little fools... Who don't know, the charms of the dark To be heartless and cruel! Just accept my offer of power, You'll all be slaves under my control! And one day, this whole wide world, will be under my rule!
@Sugar @122 Generation The girl playing Lilliane applauded the song as the music ended. "Good evening, Liliane..." the boy playing Captain Vernet gave her a sweeping bow. "It's good to see you in good spirits, milord--and these three made it through their trip through the Pit of Ordeals just fine!" she smiled as the three bandits walked in, miraculously unscathed. "Although it took'em a week to do it." she mused to the audience, to some giggles. "Good to see you three--you know the play is tomorrow night...." the boy began. "Yes sir!" the bandits chorused. "I want the princess and those three gone before then!" the boy ordered. "How should we do that?" the first bandit asked. "The princess is the easy part--just lock her away in a tower in the middle of nowhere." the boy explained. "Those three so called musketeers will be the hard part...." "We'll think of something! Don't worry!" the second bandit assured the boy. They hurried offstage as the lights went down.
@Sugar @122 Generation There was some chaos backstage as the coach set was moved into place. "The princess and our three heroes left on their journey that afternoon, under the impression they were on their way to a neighboring country..." Melody narrated from her nook.
@Sugar @122 Generation There was some confused murmuring as the lights didn't come up. But none of the actors onstage broke character as the crew hurried to assess the moving background.
@Sugar @122 Generation The crew worked quickly and quietly to allow the play to continue. Since the first dress rehearsal didn't get this far, it was better to fix this problem now than opening night.
@Sugar @122 Generation Brock looked over at Alyssa. "Bad dress rehearsal, good opening night, okay?" he assured her. The audience applauded when the lights came up on the working coach set some moments later.
Alyssa simply nodded and agreed. Better to fail now than when it matters. There would be more hitches, but they'd be taken care of.
