The last time Martine had seen a VMAX movie, that was back in a certain theatre in Lumiose. So she had good expectations of what she was about to watch.
@Sugar @122 Generation (At this VMAX theater patrons can choose whether to see a 2D or a 3D version of each of the three shows on offer
@Sugar @122 Generation (Since some of the group have experienced 3D sickness, Miracolore opted for the 2D version to be safe.)
@Sugar @122 Generation The VMAX theater was awe inspiring to see. The huge screen had a wall to itself. If this was a 3D showing, there would be bins for the 3D glasses at the entrances, but there were only trash cans here.
@Sugar @122 Generation (hitting the highlights) The announcer comes on as the lights dim and gives the courtesy spiel. "...so sit back, relax, and enjoy 'Constellations: Tales in the Stars'." he concludes some time later.
@Sugar @122 Generation The screen counts down 3...2...1...before a majestic scene of a starry sky appears. "Space...for millennia, mankind has wondered what lies beyond the stars." a female narrator begins. "To the ancients, the sky was filled with wonder, the realm of the gods. So they named images they saw in the stars after heroes and legendary figures. But the stars within these ancient images have tales of their own to tell." With that, a majestic theme begins as the documentary's title appears.
Alyssa eyes were glued to the screen in bated anticipation. She knew what this was about, but which direction would it go in?
@Sugar @122 Generation The documentary talks about both notable constellations, and some not that well known. In addition to the constellations, it also talks about the stories behind them, and how special they are to the astronomy community.
@Sugar @122 Generation Luckily, the documentary explains things at an easy to understand level. It helps that the huge screen and powerful sound system immerses the audience.
(Got a soundtrack to go with it?) It was like being in space, and Martine had to marvel at the sheer size of a VMAX screen.
@Sugar @122 Generation (imagine a triumphant spacey theme in the style of Star Wars--that would be the best way to describe what the soundtrack sounds like)
@Sugar @122 Generation (If you're curious, VMAX screens come in two types--your average theater screen, and a dome screen. The screen here is your average theater screen)
