@122 Generation (It's a very common melody from the Gekijou theater that appears in period and martial arts dramas. Brock learned it off sheet music while in Johto.)
Regardless of Ash's answer, Alyssa was going to give it her best effort, and this time her first try was going to be her best one. She once again took a deep breath and prepared herself to play the notes.
@Sugar Ash gave Alyssa a new piece of sheet music. "Okay, this is the tune 'Hanabi'. It's still not too difficult, and offers plenty of F notes to practice." @122 Generation (Brock learned from Sakura, who serves as the harpist when the Kimono Girls play together.)
@122 Generation You could tell that Brock had practiced and played the vina for a long time. Every pluck of the string had the touch of a master. The pieces were never hurried, and never rushed.
"Okay, let's see what this sounds like. Hopefully I can make it sound as good as it is." Alyssa once again took a deep breath to prepare herself. She took a glance at the sheet music and slowly began to play the notes.
@Sugar Despite a decent first attempt, a few of the F notes still sounded wavery. "Remember--relax as the notes go lower." Ash reminded Alyssa.
Alyssa took a peek at the sheet music again. She finally realized that she wasn't relaxing on her first attempts, instead jumping right in. Once again, she ever-so-slightly relaxed herself and played the tune.
@Sugar Ash seemed pleased that this attempt sounded nicer. "Very nice...can I trust you to work on this tune and a few more to practice the F note?" he asked as he marked two other tunes for Alyssa to practice. "Next time we'll go over basic ornamentation and another note."
@Sugar @122 Generation You return to the hotel refreshed. Tomorrow, you're headed to the Tapu Village and the Lanakila Trail, where the Alolan Vulpix and Alolan Ninetales are said to live.
Martine woke up normally the next morning. Brock's performance was still fresh in her head and it was something to reflect on.
@Sugar @122 Generation The hotel foyer hummed with activity. Many of the group were bundled up to withstand the cold on the mountain trail.
Alyssa woke up to her bansi staring straight at her. She had played enough of it yesterday, but maybe she could look up some songs...
