    Alyssa attemped to grab the tune of the song, but found it to be a lot harder than she had expected. She bobbed her head back and forth to the high and low notes while still trying to figure the tune out. While doing this, the music started playing over and over in her head & she was gettingcloser and closer to deciphering the tune.

    By now, Serena was ready to play, and eagerly joined in with Misty to kick off a driving melody. As Brock joined in on guitar, Ash urged the crowd to clap before Misty broke off to solo--he didn't really know the tunes in this set very well, but interacting with the crowd and helping with the percussion was the least he could do.

    Alyssa tried to grasp the tune of this song as well, and found it easier to do than the other one. Something about the song made Alyssa able to grasp not only the tune, but all the important notes as well.

    It helped that the guitar line was easy to follow. The chords made it easy to figure out the melody.

    Ash and Misty led the next set, with an Eb whistle doubling the fiddle an octave above. Misty soloing bought Ash time to switch to the Pokeflute for the second tune. Then it was back to the whistle for the third tune, and the final tune was the fiddle and mandolin playing together in Bb. The guitar joined back in, followed by the Pokeflute, finishing on a Bb chord.

    As the applause rang through the cafeteria, Brock figured it was storytime. "Okay...if you have any requests, drop it in the box/" he reminded the audience as he softly picked out the Zelda theme--one of his subtler signals that he planned to tell an adventure tale.

    "Wow, this music is really something else. The songs just keep playing in my head over and over again like it's on repeat or something." Alyssa danced over to the box and tossed her submission into it, hoping slightly that it would be picked.

    "Remember, if we don't get to yours, don't panic." Ash assured the audience. "It'll still be in there for next time."

    (Brock has always wanted to learn "Blowin' in the Wind" with Ash playing harmonica, but has never managed to find Flint's old record with it on there or the chords)

    Alyssa nervously brushed the hair our of her face for whatever reason, cause there clearly was nothing to be nervous about in the first place. She wanted to see what suggestion was going to be picked this time.

    Miracolore rummaged through the box for a moment, before Serena offered Brock a slip.

    Brock read the slip over, then started a relaxed melody. "There was once a king who had a son he loved very much--we'll call the prince Luke. Luke's father wanted very much to see Luke take a bride before he died. Luke wanted very much to please his father, but as there were many beautiful girls in the land, he didn't know which one to choose. Luke's father took him into the royal gallery, where many portraits of princesses hung.

    There were many fine portraits in the gallery, but Luke noticed one princess that was not smiling, and told his father that was the princess he wanted to marry. His father warned him that that princess, who we'll call Morgan, was being held captive in the castle of an evil wizard, who we'll call Arion. Many had tried to infiltrate Arion's castle, but none had returned. If someone could make the three enchanted jewels on Arion's belt glow, Princess Morgan would be freed."

    Prince Luke left with his father's blessings early the next morning..." Ash interjects over a flourish from Brock. "...and it wasn't long before he got horribly lost in a forest." Laughter filled the room as Brock played the Mario Game Over theme for effect.

    Alyssa clasped her hands together and leaned slightly over the table, indicating she was very into this story. She hoped the story would flow very smoothly, as all good stories do, but even if it didn't, one could always expect a plot twist to be thrown in here or there. She flipped her attention back to the story being told.

    "He befriended a man named Langston who had remarkable agility--he could stretch himself in all directions, and used his agility to find the way out of the forest." Serena picks up the story. "Prince Luke was touched by Langston's kindness, and offered for him to enter his service. Langston agreed to help Luke on his quest."

    "Langston introduced two of his friends to Prince Luke." Ash explains. "One was Brad, who could inhale anything in a single deep breath. The second was Keane, who could see things no average human could see."

    Alyssa's eyes and ears were completely glued to the stage and the story to this point. Never before had she been this into a story since she came from her old academy. The story was flowing smoothly and the characters were being played perfectly. Not a single thing was wrong with the story...at least not so far.

    "It was nightfall when Prince Luke and his party arrived at Arion's castle." Misty narrates. "There were all manner of stone statues of previous knights and adventurers that had tried to save Princess Morgan lining the halls. Arion met them in the great hall."

    "Sure enough, a jewel studded belt was around his waist, and a ruby, a sapphire, and an emerald were the biggest stones on it." Ash continues. "Arion told Prince Luke that he could have Princess Morgan if he could keep her from escaping for three nights. If he failed, he and his party would be turned to stone."

    Again, the story was flowing just as Alyssa had hoped. The only thing missing was the big plot twist, which she was hoping would come somewhere near the end, or pop right out at everyone in the middle.

    "Prince Luke fell madly in love with Princess Morgan, and the two spent a quiet evening together." Brock continues over a relaxed interlude. "After bidding Langston, Brad, and Keane to keep an eye on Princess Morgan, Luke went to bed."

    He then intones over an A minor chord "The next morning, Prince Luke saw Princess Morgan was gone."

    "Okay Alyssa, pull it back just slightly, this is where things take a turn for the worst most likely." Alyssa was nearly taken aback at this point in the story, but just knew the plot twist was coming up very, very soon.
