Gameplay Journal Pokemon Red Rivalocke RNGesus vs RNGetus

Hey guys! Gonna make this brief, I'll be doing a Pokémon Red nuzlocke that will be randomized. Except, there's a twist. For the first time ever, at least for me, I'll be doing a rivallocke! This will be done with BlackSmithy, who I will be battling before every gym to see which of us is the top trainer!

Intro

So I've just opened up the game and I already know I'm in for a fun time, look at Oak!



KID OAK WOW. He looks so smug too, wow.

Anyway moving on, I do the usual call myself Getus, my rival Smithy and we're off!

First off. Mum, what happened? What did I miss when I slept?



Well I guess I found the missing father of Red... Anyway time to continue, bye Mu- I mean Dad.

So at this point I'm just going through the usual, last time I did this which is before I restarted for the rivallocke with Smithy, Oak was a bird, now... He is a human. So sad.

Starters

Everyones favourite time has come! Starters! Woo! My choices are

Timburr...

Fletchling....

Magnemite....

So boring. Despite that though, FLETCHLING I CHOOSE YOU, COME TO ME FLAMINBIRB. Yes, FlaminBirb is its nickname.

Now its rival time, I battle NPC Smithy, who is apparently a girl, and they summon Shelmet. Nothing overpowering, but damn did that battle forever. My moves were rather weak in power against it, but I won.

Woo!

Now I run through the rest of the intro, leveling FlaminBirb where possible, and after retrieving Oaks parcel Birb levels up! It learns razor leaf. So I have a Normal/Flying type, who will become fire (possibly) and it knows a ground and two grass type moves. Alright, fair enough game. Gonna zoom on ahead here to my next rival battle...

Wait no I'm not BECAUSE BIRB JUST WIPED HIS TEAM OUT WITH A BONE RUSH AND A RAZOR LEAF.

Birb is strong indeed, anyway now I go get my Pokéballs and thus the nuzlocke begins. And what a tragic start, my first encounter is Hitmontop in route 1, and he would not get in the ball. First 4 balls MISSED, how often does that happen? Eventually, I had to finish him because he was getting dangerous. There goes power. No need to worry! Route 2 is another encounter, and there I encountered a Ledian. Who also almost destroyed Birb, but I finally caught the beast, and what a beast it is.

CLEAN SWEEP BOYS AND GIRLS, BIRB REKT. The explosion at the end made me sad, believe Birb wasn't gonna survive it and thus the sweep wouldn't have happened, but Birb is a legend and Birb tanked! Woo! Anyway, this is where this update ends, see ya next time.

Last time on Getus Ball P Smithy got wrecked.

Anyway now that the brief recap is done, time to jump straight into things!

Veridian Forest

In Veridian forest several things become clear to me. I'm bad at capturing Pokémon and Giovanni has a lot of twins.

First things first, my encounter. It is a lovely wee Pangoro... that knocked itself out with Double Edge... Crap. Oh well, guess we're stuck with two for the gym battle.

Pewter City Gym

Speaking of the gym battle, where did Brock go? BECAUSE THIS IS MISTY, NOT BROCK!



Meh, doesn't matter I just cleanly tore through the leader, no issues whatsoever. BOOM First Gym Badge down, 7 to go. Also, I got a nice Water Pulse TM. Water Pulse Saving that for a Water Type, the STAB will be glorious.

Route 3

WE FOUND THAT STAB MON FOR WATER PULSE. A GOD DARNED PALKIA!



Yeaah... That isn't happening. Palkia.. Palkia slayed FlaminBirb. My starter. And I could not capture it. I'll admit, I had to step away from my computer for a bit after it. I had grown attached to FlaminBirb.

Anyway after unleashing my rage onto Palkia through a petal dance from Ledian (Cause that's the epitome of rage these days) I moved on, broken but not defeated. Finally I make it into Mt. Moon. After depositing FlaminBirb into the box and healing up I enter and find my next encounter.

A Combusken. I call it FireBirb in honor of FlaminBirb. THAT NAME IS CURSED, COMBUSKEN WAS DESTROYED BY ANOTHER WATER TYPE. A GOD DAMN GASTRODON THAT USED COUNTER AFTER I TRIED TO RUN.

RIP FireBirb Mt. Moon - Mt. Moon

So after making my way through Mt. Moon where I found a master ball. Yes a Master Ball, come at me Palkia. With this, I also found a Fire Stone and TM01. TM01 HYDRO PUMP! Taught it to DemonBug aka Ledian, why it's called DemonBug is because it has to be the result of a demonic ritual with how powerful it is. So now my Ledian knows Hydro Pump - Metal Claw - Petal Dance and Aerial Ace. A good moveset if you ask me. Anyway, moving through Mt. Moon and getting my Helix Fossil, because Lord Helix, I finally make it to Route 4 where I encounter a Dutrio.

At this point my Ledian is level 22 so I couldn't touch it, but I couldn't capture it either so I decided to risk an Aerial Ace... As soon as I selected it I knew I should've gone with Metal Claw. There goes yet another encounter, I'm starting to see a theme...

Finally I get to Cerulean City and I'm ending this update, the next one will begin with my battle with Smithy. Cya then folks!

I wouldn't be surprised, just had a rival battle and another Palkia appeared.. I got revenge
