Pokemon rumors your friends told you!

The pushing A and down arrow just as the Pokéball opened up would make the Pokéball act like a masterball.

I used it enough that still to this day I catch myself smashing those buttons, though I find myself doing it more on the gamecube games than I do the current games.

 

Togepi evolves into Aerodactyl guys trust me my friend's cousin's dad works for the Pokémon company. You'll see when Gold and Silver come out!

 

My friend once told me you could catch lugia on some bridge over water on sundays..it didnt work and i was sad

 

My friend told me that it help to catch Pokémon if I press A, L and R xD
I still do it even when I know that it doesnt work

 

I remember someone told me that if I mashed A while using a move like Bullet Seed, it's always hit the maximum number of times. Of course, that was a lie.

 

That Mt. Moon was the HG/SS equivalent of Mt. Coronet in D/P/Pt, in that it can evolve Magneton. Boy was I annoyed.

 

There was this one crazy rumor that my friends told me back in 4th grade.
They said if your Ruby game reaches 999:99 hours of playtime, there will be a cutscene where Team Magma uses the rocket from the Space Center (or whatever it's called) in Mossdeep to go to the outer space and the main character will go with them and be able to catch Deoxys without the Mystery Event. One of them even claimed to have seen the cutscene AND caught Deoxys as well. WOW!!!1111

Haha of course being the naive little kid I was back then I almost fell for it.

 

Yup, I heard about the mash the A button rumor too. My friend was like, "Quick, press the A button and you'll catch Lugia." Then I said, "Pfft, that doesn't actually work." I promptly pressed A rapidly just to prove them wrong -- and of course I catch Lugia on the first try. My friend was all, "See, see! Told ya so!"

I'm sure I heard plenty other rumors too, but the only other one that comes to mind right now is: my friend (same one) told me one of their Pokémon died (R/B/Y) and they got to bury it in Lavender Tower. After that, I was super super careful not to let my guys faint, just in case.

 

Haha I've heard of that one too. I was a naive kid as well but i was going to try for it. But then I lost interest and said "feh" to Deoxys. Then figured it was fake anyways. Though I also heard that the same thing would happen if you get like..222 hours or something. I tried that only because my game was one hour under that set time. So i figured, what the heck? XD

 

My friend told me his cousin got a lv. 200 Mewtwo on Red version without cheating. At first I believed him but then quickly realized he lied. I doubt his cousin even has Red version :/ .

 

the mashing the A button thing was told differently to me. I was told to mash the buttons on the right hand side of the screen when it opened and then start the left hand side at the same time when it hit the ground. I was so frustrated when I was trying to catch Articuno on firered with this, and when I didn't try doing that i actually got closer to catching it

 

I was told that you hold down b and the down button. Not that it would act as a masterball but that it would help your chances. I still do it to this day out of habit and maybe because, on the inside, I want to believe it helps me.

My bf and I had a big argument about this and every time he did it to prove me wrong he caught the Pokémon he was having a hard time on. I think he's a little confused now and doesn't know what to believe. (Mwhahahahaha!)

 

"Nidogod".

That was the big rumor years ago. There was supposedly a genderless joint evolution of Nidoking and Nidoqueen out there that was the most powerful Pokémon ever.

 

the biggest one is holding down b and down to catch Pokémon, i know it doesn't work but i still do it to this day! its sorta like a safety blanket lol i can't help it. also there was this rumor that went around when i was little that when you weren't looking at your screen, you'd always catch the Pokémon. idek how people thought it would work, but of course it didn't.

 

People used to tell me there were 10,000+ Pokémon. No joke.

 

A friend of mine told be about that pressing the B button thing to raise your chances and he said it only works on normal pokeballs in FRLG and greatballs in RSE. I tried it on a whim, and surprise! I actually caught all 3 legendary birds with a Pokéball. Not on the first try, mind you. Then, years later, I realized I might just have lucked out. XD

 

A friend told me that he had the altering cave in his Emerald version, he spoke about a secret power of the cave: making shiny all the Pokémon wich born there. Curious, because it never happened.

 

I always heard the Space Center one in Ruby. That, the mash A-B thing, and the Jirachi rumor. It was something about completing the game a bunch of times, and then flying to the moon to get Jirachi and Deoxys.

 

Oh yes, I rember that some one told me that the player have to wait the 100th launch, than he can fly to the moon, bahhh...
