(Yes, I know I already posted this, but because of a certain event, it was deleted, so I'm reposting it~) So, the Pokémon Sun and Moon demo is due for release any time now, so to keep the hype rolling (as if it wasn't hype enough), let's talk about possible Pokémon teams! With only a month to release, we've seen nearly 60 new Pokémon, so surely you have some idea of what you'd like for your team. Personally, I'm going to go through Pokémon Sun with Litten/Torracat/3rd Stage, Bounsweet/Steenee/Tsareena, Alolan Vulpix/Ninetales and Alolan Raichu. The reasons for my choice are simply my love for the designs. So, have you decided on a full team yet, or maybe there's one new Pokémon that needs to be in your team no matter what. Like every Pokémon game I start it's going to change a lot, I play through slowish and I like to check out different things and experiment, but I have chosen Rowlet as my starter and my party is definitely going to get Sandlit when it can, as well as the Jangmo-o line, these are my two favorite things from this generation so far. Vikavolt is probably going to be my initial electric type to put on the team, I love its design and the typing is cool, I have fond memories of Galvantula on a team in Black 2. Besides that I'm not sure yet, there will be a bunch of experimentation. Might check out Alolan Sandshrew/Sandslash for defensive Pokémon, and cause they are pretty cool classics I always liked.
I'm 100% sure I want Popplio as my starter. I'm gonna get a Yungoos/Gumshoos for the team and, depending on how well it can handle itself, I may actually keep him around. I'm gonna be looking all over cold, icy areas specifically for Alolan Sandshrew. I don't usually go for raising pseudo-legendaries on my first playthroughs, but Jangmo-o is interesting, so I think I'll might make an exception this time. I guess I'll figure out the rest of my team as time goes. I'm still gonna experiment a lot with different Pokémon, but these guys are almost guaranteed.
Hoo boy, this here is a toughie for me haha. I know that there are three set in stone: Popplio will definitely be my starter for one. Since the beginning I intended to pick them and I'm sticking to that. Following up will most definitely be Lurantis: even if the mon turns out kinda meh it's design is super adorable I love it <3 And finally will be Kommo-o (Who I most definitely will be nicknaming Mommo-o). Kommo-o just looks so cool, I couldn't handle not having one join me haha As for the other 3 spots, the possibilities are many. For one I'd absolutely love to have Salandit on my team, but then there's also Mimikyu and a bunch of really neat Alolan mons (such as Ninetales, I mean LOOK AT THAT SHEER BEAUTY) just to name a few. Tho if Ultra Beasts are usable then I will most definitely be using UB-01. IT'S A FLOATING JELLY SQUISHY AAAAAA HOW COULD I NOT But that's an if they are usable. I hope they are but if they aren't, hey! Whatcha gonna do? Either way I'm excited to see what else graces my team on Sun/Moon. Here's hoping for a grand experience ^-^
Ugh, it can be summed up by "give me the bugs and arthropod things". If it looks like a bug I'll probably give it a go. Crabrawler, Vikavolt, Wimpod and Yungoos. Not Cutiefly because the evolution went down a path I wasn't hoping for. I have a mild interest in the grass or fire starter, but from the looks of things I'm replacing the starter as soon as I find something I'd rather use the slot for. I like Silvally, but prefer Type: Null. Doesn't stop me from liking Silvally a lot though. Wishiwashi's cool too and my favourite Alolan so far is Marowak. Could end up training any of these, don't know yet. I was hopeful for Alolan Persian, but the datamines dashed those hopes..
My team would be, Rowlet Final Evo Salandit Evo Wishiwashi Crabrawler Evo Vikivolt The last slot is a toss-up for me. It's between Mudsdale, Drampa, Oranguru, Silvally and Wimpod's Evo. Probably going to go with Oranguru though.
I am still holding out for Litten's final evo not to be a Fire/Fighting, but if it is I am probably going for Popplio. Added to the starter is Alolan Ninetales. I cannot in good conscience let my signature Pokémon off the Team. Then we have Lycanroc (Day Forme). Tsareena and Kommo-o are definite contenders. If I am picking up Popplio, I am getting a Salandit, he looks awesome. My side game team is still up for grabs.
This is what I think for my main team at this time: Popplio/Brionne/3rd Evolution Grubbin/Charjabug/Vikavolt Jangmo-o/Hakamo-o/Kommo-o Mudbray/Mudsdale Rockruff/Lycanroc (Midday Form) Alolan Grimer/Muk But there are a LOT I really want to use, and my team may change depending on how I like them. So here is a possible secondary team: Type: Null/Silvally Minior Crabrawler/Evolution Sandygast/Palossand Salandit/Evolution Alolan Sandshrew/Sandslash I also really want to try out Pikipek's final evolution, Gumshoos, Alolan Raticate, Alolan Exeggutor, Tsareena, Passimian, Alolan Raichu, Bruxish, and Wishiwashi.
So now here is my updated team list. My main team remains the same, but due to how much I love all three starters, I have created a team for all three of them. I'm still choosing Popplio though. Main Team: Primarina Vikavolt Lycanroc (Midday) Mudsdale Kommo-o Alolan Muk Alternate 1: Decidueye Minior Turtonator Crabrawler evolution Bruxish Alolan Sandslash Alternate 2: Incineroar Wimpod evolution Morelull evolution Palossand Drampa Alolan Raichu Reserves: Silvally (All) Tsareena (Main, Alternate 2) Lurantis (Main, Alternate 2) Salandit evolution (Main, Alternate 1)
I haven't gone through the leaks (and don't plan on doing so) so my list is limited to what was revealed in the trailers. I'm pretty sure I'm getting the Litten line, but I actually love all the starter lines in this generation so I'm uncertain. I really would like alolan vulpix and cubone lines, and salandit and nekkoara have some fun abilities. Overall, I think I'm just gonna have to wait and see what I can get, because I have way too many that I love conceptually right now xD
I was like that at first too, but then basically just said "screw it" because it only shows the sprites. Not the names or types pr anything. And it doesn't seem like that was the full list anyway (for several reasons). I totally get why you're not looking at it though.
Still not quite sure what my team will be like due to the unknown availability of some of the Pokémon in the region. However, based on the starter I end up choosing (either Rowlet or Popplio) I'll try to have other Pokémon on my team that balance out with the types of their final evolutions (Grass/Ghost and Water/Fairy). So I'd try to add Pokémon onto my team that don't have the same type as my starter and also are decent stat wise and have a nice design. Alolan Ninetails seems like a Pokémon I might end up using on my team since there tends to not be as many ice type Pokémon in games and it has a great design. Aside from that, I can't pick any other Pokémon in particular I can see using on my team.
