The Pokémon Trading Card Game...played and enjoyed by millions across the world, it is the fastest selling and most popular trading card game in the Pokeworld. The phenomenon has gotten so big, matches are even televised, and great players are rock stars.

But then you--who up till now had only a passing interest in the game are somehow invited to the mysterious Solitaire Island, where a massive tournament is being held--and the winner will walk away with four rare and valuable cards.

You gather together your best deck, and travel to the island for an adventure that is part journey, and part tournament. Along the way you will find some familiar faces, meet some new friends, and more.

A few things to keep in mind before you sign up:

--The full 18 type type chart is used--the types used in the real game keep their icons, while the remaining types get new icons.

--The card names are more elaborate, akin to Yu-Gi-Oh cards.

--There are Basic Energy cards for all known types, plus Special Energy

    --Some card effects are different

--There are cards not seen in the real game

For example, a standard Charizard from the Base set is called "Flame Herald Charizard"

To keep competition fair to all players, the official TCG ruling body, the Pokémon Trading Card Game Association (or PTCGA, for short), does restrict or outright ban certain cards, unlike in the real world. This is one reason why some cards may have multiple versions.

When a card is restricted, you can only have so many copies of a card in one deck used for official play (usually one copy per deck, but some cards are restricted to two)

If a card is banned, that particular card cannot be used in official play, no ifs, ands or buts. Card manufacturers work around this by releasing other variations of the Pokémon in question with different attacks, making the restricted or banned variant valuable to collectors.

Of course, players that just play for fun can use any card they want.

Players are expected to keep up with the restricted or banned lists, which are updated every few months with new additions, and the occasional removal

--The competitors competing in the tournament are not your opponents--the clubs and their masters are. However, those competing in the tournament are welcome to have friendly matches against each other.

--An official match is played for four prizes, six if competing against a club master or grand master

--Winners of official matches will earn Solitaire Jewels--enchanted gems that prove your mastery of the Pokémon TCG. Full jewels are not to be wagered in friendly matches, but Solitaire Shards can. Anyone caught wagering Solitaire Jewels in a friendly match will be disqualified and sent home.

--Only those that have earned all 18 jewels are allowed to climb Klondike Mountain and enter the Indigo City.

--Players should be aware of the current Restricted and Banned lists--anyone whose decks are found to have illegal restricted cards or banned cards will be disqualified. All card shops will have copies of the current Restricted and Banned list available to view upon request.

--If you believe cheating has occurred in a match, please let an official know immediately.

--You may compete alone or with a team of up to five people (not including any mentors or sponsors). Mentors cannot duel on behalf of their mentoree, and team sponsors may not duel on behalf of the team.

Can you defeat the Four Grand Masters and claim the Four Legendary Cards?

    Black Glasses ★★★★Friend Ball ★★★★Park Ball ★★★Helix Fossil ★★★Sun Stone ★★★
    Character name: Shadria
    Character age: 15
Character's appearance: Short young lady, about 5'1'' with a curved body shape. She has a sweet smile, with adorable freckles and rosy cheeks. Shadria has shoulder-length brown hair, somewhat wavy and with her bangs parted and framing her round cheeks. Her eyes are a bright cocoa brown, matching her hair nicely-although they're often obscured by a hat she wears. The hat is a typical black cabbie/newsboy with fake green horns sticking out, and a red heart pinned to the lip. She has a black velvet choker with a fire energy emblem, and wears a black short sleeved v-neck shirt under a camo jacket. Her pants are black jeans, with a white belt-which often has a chain or two connected to it. Heavy biker boots cover up to her kneecaps, tightly tied and adored with small skulls. She carries a small blue and brown backpack, which holds a good handful of stuff-such as Pokémon merchandise!
    Character's personality/known backstory:
Personality: Shadria's really a sweet girl, and cares alot about others-but has come to hide it behind a aloof, almost intimidating facade due to years of being used and bullied by others. She's often insecure of herself, and has been told that she's borderline clingy to others that she cares the most about. Shadria's slow to making friends herself, let alone talking to someone new, but instantly jumps onto anyone that asks to be her friend, or whoever speaks to her first. Despite the fake personality she shows most people, she isn't afraid to show the weird side of herself, as seen with her clothing choices.
Backstory: Shadria grew up in a town that didn't really get into the Pokémon Craze, making her the odd one out very quickly as a child-and the isolation/bullying continued as she grew up and discovered other strange interests outside of the town's norms. She was often teased over her body, although she exercised and such often-this led to her insecurities and fake personality. Once she was 13, she moved farther away from the town in hopes of finding others fond of Pokémon like her, but instead she ended up hearing about Solitaire Island.
Why is your character coming to Solitaire Island?: A mix between wanting to find friends, and possible monetary gain from the rarest cards. She currently isn't super into the card game, and figures that someone else will pay big money for the prize cards.
Character's ace Pokémon (up to three--this will help in building your deck): Typhlosion and Zoroark
