    The basic premise:

In a fantastic Asian Pokeworld not unlike Ransei, martial arts is king in the culture. It is not unheard of for most people to know at least a few moves of a mishmash of styles for self defense. But those that truly wish to learn an art (or style of arts) to the fullest will go on and join a sect or school. From there, they often go forth to battle evil, or stay behind to teach the next generation.

Martial arts can range from unarmed styles, to weaponry, to instruments, to even household implements.

But on the Empress' birthday, a grand tournament known as the Celestial Gauntlet--so named because millions of people compete each year--is held. Lots of money and fabulous and rare prizes are offered to the winners, so many warriors dedicate themselves to training in the weeks before the tournament, so they can go as far as possible through the many opponents.

It is possible, but very rare, for someone to completely make it through the massive gauntlet--these competitors get a special prize from the Empress herself. in the thousand year history of the tournament, the Emperor or Empress has only awarded this prize 20 times.

Summer is here, and Empress Rinon's 25th birthday is drawing near. People are flocking to the Indigo City for the tournament--either to compete, or to watch.

You are one of the millions of warriors competing in the tournament--will you come home with fabulous prizes and fame for your school or sect?

Sign up here with the following info:

Character's name: (try to pick something that at least sounds Chinese or Japanese)
Character's age: (anywhere from age 14 to 19 will do)
Character's physical appearance (what does your character basically look like?)
Character's personality/known history (what is your character like, and what spurred your character to come compete)
Character's known Pokémon, if any (any known non-Legendary Pokémon are allowed--if you do want a Legendary, be prepared to explain how you got it)
Character's preferred style: (what does your character use to fight? If they fight unarmed, just put "fist", "palm", or "knuckle"
Character's school/sect: (Is your character part of a school or sect? If they are not, you can list them as "wandering warriors)

You can only use one weapon or implement at a time--so if your character can use multiple implements, pick the one they are best at.

For RP purposes, Ash, Misty, Brock, and Serena are musicians competing
Of course, not everyone battles in the tournament--musicians play their best solos against each other, dancers dance against each other, archers and spear users see how far they can shoot or throw, and so on.

If you need ideas for sect names or martial art names, check here (check all the two word templates for best results. You can also generate a nickname for your character, if you wish)
