@Kittimancy The path to the bridge overlooked a different part of the plain. "Look closely--Buneary is hiding down below." Master Karashi explained.
Cobalt took the twin blades from Master Mitsu. He looked at the blades carefully. "How do I hold them?"
@Ignem "You don't want to hold the blades too tightly, but loosely enough that they will still be secure in your hands while doing spins and turns." Master Mitsu explained. "You can also use them as a kind of defense." @Kittimancy A small brown speck in the grass created a flash visible from the bridge. The only way to know if it was the Buneary statue or not was to take a shot.
"Hmm?" The flash below got Marissa's attention. Again. Sniper raised his scarf to let Marissa know where the wind blowed and shoot accordingly. Neither of them wanted to repeat the archer's mishap earlier, after all.
Cobalt nodded. He held the blade in his right hand as a sword while the one in his right as a dagger. He held them tight enough that it can be stay in his hands.
@Ignem Master Mitsu nodded in approvel at Cobalt's form. "To defend using both blades, cross them into an X shape against the area you wish to protect. You can also parry and counter this way."
"Right!" Cobalt said. He closed his eyes and imagined an attack coming towards him. He stepped back and formed a cross with blades. The blade in his right horizontal and the blade on his left infront of the previous one, vertical.
@Ignem Master Mitsu watched Cobalt try a defensive stance. "Nice! Would you like to attempt a counter or a parry?"
"Yes!" he said. He would like to get as much knowledge as he can before he goes back to training his kicks.
@Ignem Master Mitsu hits a button, triggering some ball launchers to come out of the walls. "Let's see if you can deflect the balls with your blades." @Kittimancy A crack confirmed that Marissa had shattered the orb in the Buneary's paws!" "Nicely done!" Master Karashi raved. "Let's cross this bridge and head down to the lake--Gyarados is lurking in the water."
The student and her Pokémon simply nodded in unison. They went to the lake with the former happily humming a song. (What Marissa hums)
After spending quite some time walking, Marissa stopped her humming and wondered, "Waitamoment, if Gyarados is lurking in the water, am I supposed to swim there or something?" (Double posting to get the host's attention, lul. :v )
@Kittimancy (Oops! My fault--thought I had already answered! Master Karashi smiled. "Oh no, it would be too cold to brave these waters. You'll be aiming on land for a target in the water."
"Phew..." the girl sighed in relief that she wouldn't need to either swim herself or use her Rotom Bike for this one.
@Kittimancy Before long, Master Karashi and Marissa had arrived near a third bridge--this one overlooking the lake. "Gyarados shouldn't be too hard to spot in the water." Master Karashi explained. "Trust your bow, and you'll find him."
