While Marissa was being treated, Sniper waited outside. "Blimey!" he ranted in Pokémon language. "Never thought sis Marissa would be prone to accidents like that..."
@Kittimancy Luckily, the wound was not too serious, but worth keeping an eye on. The Chansies explained that if Marissa made it through the night, she could continue the trial.
(Let's just say that Sniper is outside the medical bay but still in the dojo...) Sniper nodded in understanding as the Chansey told him about Marissa's condition. "I see. Thanks again, miss Chansey," he thanked her. (Also, since Marissa is out of commission for now, I'll hang back and see how Cobalt's doing. *proceeds to poke @Ignem*)
Now that control came from his instinct. He had no training to use these blades like this. He panted and nodded at what Master Mitsu said.
(Oh, really? Then what does this part circled in red even mean?) Spoiler: Wat dis??? (Try to deny that and you'll only deceive yourself. )
@Ignem Master Mitsu notice Cobalt's fatigue. "Well done!" she smiled as a student brought over a towel. "These blades should serve you well on any adventure."
Cobalt nodded he got up panting. His arms were aching of swinging his blades. But he was satisfied with results.
@Ignem "There is one trial left..." Master Mitsu explained. "But it can wait until everyone finishes their unique weapon trial."
(Is it a sign to continue my part? If yes, here goes.) The next day after the Arbok statue accident, Marissa finally got better. Unlike last time, she decided to wear a knit cap (imagine Victor's default hat in the games) and tuck her braids inside it to prevent more accidents on her head. She looked for one of the masters, preferably Master Karashi since he was the one proctoring her trial last time.
@Kittimancy Bleeps and bloops and an iconic jump noise clued Marissa in to where Master Karashi was. When he wasn't teaching martial arts, he was very much a gamer, with even the most obscure Nintendo system and peripheral hooked up and ready to use in a moment. At the moment, he was engrossed in a true classic--Super Mario Bros. on what looked like a pristine NES.
Is it just me or... is someone playing games here? Curiosity ensued upon hearing the game's sounds, so Marissa decided to have a look. Turned out that it was Master Karashi, of all people, who did the gaming. Say what now??? Marissa thought as she couldn't believe her eyes on whatever's happening. Never thought that I got to see this side of Master Karashi's... Since she knew better than to disturb others' downtimes (like that one time when Master Mitsu and the others were considerate enough to not disturb her jamming session) and remembering that her twin brother is quite a gamer himself, Marissa decided to stay there and admire Master Karashi's gaming skills.
@Kittimancy Master Karashi had clearly played the iconic classic before, and could even put some of the world's top speedrunners, like PewterSong and RubyFox, to shame. But finishing the game as fast as possible wasn't the master's goal--it was savoring each stage as a joy for even the ten thousandth time, down to every Goomba stomped. (in this Pokeworld Brock and Serena are both champion Nintendo speedrunners--Brock is more an RPG runner so he can enjoy the music, but Serena will play most anything. Brock is known online as PewterSong, and Serena is known as RubyFox)
@Kittimancy Master Karashi beamed with pride as he rescued Peach for the zillionth time. "And that, is how you finish 'Super Mario Bros'. in about 20 minutes, without using the Warp Zone."
Still in awe at what she just had seen, Marissa couldn't say anything. She stood there and froze (figuratively) to the point that her bow dropped from her hand.
