@Kittimancy The Alolan Vulpix nodded. "Look at me! I'm a brave and dashing hero, off to save a princess in peril!"
Sniper simply chuckled at the Vulpix's bravado, yet he decided to play along anyway. He pretended to look outside, then turned to the Vulpix while feigning a desperate face. "Uh... I think we need to get outta here," the Inteleon said. "There's a hunter around here and I don't think the princess is anywhere here." That being said, Sniper grabbed the Alolan Vulpix and got out from the castle. Sorry sis, I had to lie on the "hunter" part. As he ran, Sniper launched his Snipe Shot upward. That's a sign for Marissa to shoot her arrow to the Ponyta statue.
@Kittimancy Master Karashi watched Marissa aim her shot. The last thing he wanted was someone hurt again...
Fortunately for Marissa, Sniper and the Alolan Vulpix had already gone away by the time she took her aim. She did so with taking the wind into account. Meanwhile, Sniper managed to take the Vulpix to safety. And while he's at it, he put them down and crouched to their eye level. "Sorry about that, kiddo. It's actually my trainer who's shooting her arrow there," the Inteleon profusely apologized. "Plus, Kaimana's looking for you. You don't wanna make her worry, right?"
@Kittimancy The Alolan Vulpix nodded. "I'll tell her all about my adventure!" he calls before hurrying off.
Sniper nodded with a smile. "Okay. Be careful out there~" he waved at the Vulpix, then turned back to find Marissa's arrow flying toward the castle. Would it hit? Or would it miss?
@Kittimancy The arrow elegantly arced into the orb on the Ponyta's back. "Very nice!" Master Karashi was impressed. "Dubwool waits on a cliff by the water..."
By the time Sniper came back, Marissa looked so dang happy that her arrow actually hit. "How's it, mate? Found anything?" Marissa asked, to which Sniper replied with a nod. "It's one of those Vulpix. He should be on his way to Kaimana by now," he reported with sign language, followed by a sigh of relief from Marissa. "Thank goodness..." And regarding the next target: Hop's trusty partner, right? Okay, I got this! Marissa thought.
@Kittimancy The way to where the Dubwool statue was was a bit of a walk. But once you reach the lake, you see a Dubwool statue on a cliff overlooking the lake, an orb in its horns.
Okay, the lake itself sure is perfect for sight-seeing. However, Marissa had no time for that. She still had an orb to shatter around here. Water is lake, and cliff is... Looking at the cliffs, she found the Dubwool statue on one of them. The catch? There were also the real things (read: actual Dubwool) surrounding it. Marissa sweatdropped while muttering, "Not again..."
@Kittimancy Even Master Karashi sweatdropped. He hadn't counted on wild Pokémon disrupting a trial. But he always taught the students to roll with the punches, no matter what life threw at them, so they would do that here.
If Sniper were to do what he did last time, it'll tire him out before he can even reach that statue, Marissa thought. I mean, her Inteleon could swim through the lake and climb on the cliff, but it would take a long time anyway. With that in mind, Marissa sent her Flygon out. "Vivi!" The young archer told both Sniper and Vivian to watch her arrow from the sky. She even told Sniper to shoot her with his Snipe Shot should the arrow hit one of the real Dubwool. Sniper then hopped on Vivian and the two flew as Marissa raised the Silk Scarf from yesterday to check on the wind herself. Some time after Vivian took off, she and Sniper saw a human boy (presumably a shepherd) near the herd of Dubwool. He proceeded to herd them away from the cliff, leaving the Dubwool statue alone. And no, neither Sniper nor Vivian intervened -- they simply watched everything that just happened. Meanwhile, by the time Marissa took her aim, the herd of Dubwool were getting outta there courtesy of their shepherd. She aimed slightly off to the right (because the wind went to the left) with roughly the same power level as when she shot at the Ponyta statue.
@Kittimancy Master Karashi watched the shepherd and his flock depart. "Okay! You are clear to shoot!" he called once the field was empty.
@Kittimancy A crack confirmed the arrow had hit! Hundreds of shards now lay at the Dubwool statue's feet, and several more between its horns.
Confirming that the arrow managed to hit its intended target, Sniper and Vivian went back to Marissa and Master Karashi with such happy faces. "Thanks, mate," Marissa returned Vivian to her Pokéball, then proceeded to the next test.
@Kittimancy Master Karashi made a grand gesture to the water. "The wily Infernape, Son Goku, does not fear the water, though he is a Fire type. Can you find him on the lake?"
A Fire-type... that doesn't fear water? curiosity ensued on Marissa's part. She may hadn't seen what Infernape looks like, but she decided to think about the Pokémon's name anyway. Infernape... fire... inferno. Infernape... ape... Monkey? With that wild guess of hers, Marissa looked around as she tried to find the fire monkey (?). Also... on the lake? Could it be Gyarados all over again?
@Kittimancy Far out in the middle of a lake was a rock. On that rock was an Infernape statue holding an orb. The question was, could Marissa hit the orb?
After determining the wind's direction (with Sniper's help) and gauging how much power needed to shoot, Marissa fired an arrow to the Infernape statue. This time the wind actually went toward the statue, so hopefully it could boost the arrow's speed.
