Let's all hope that this is more than one episode. Some specials (Pokémon Mystery Dungeon for example) do have one or two episodes but I'm really hoping that they break that chain and turn this into a TV series. It seems like a good idea for them not to make multiple episodes with this.

Yeah. They could really milk this. Honestly. People are going to be clabboring for more, that's a fact. They could make a lot of money, and make a lot of fans happy if they make an entire series. Win-win, right?

Not to mention, if they get to D/P/Pt....we get to see Lake Valor...ON THE BIG SCREEN!

That's true, that's all true. They could really go far with this if they do make it an actual series. Even if it's one season long per generation, I'd be happy to see all the episodes.

I know that it's too early to really say how this'll go but I hope for the one/two episode special chain to be broken by this amazing idea.

I can see them running the a couple episodes and continuing if it does well. This kind of thing is completely fanservice for older fans, while the main anime is geared towards new ones with a high turnover rate. Based on the early reception I can see it being a big hit.

I do not see this running longer than a few episodes. Showing their starters as fully evolved Pokémon in the trailer rubbed me the wrong way. Maybe they made that many episodes, though I do not see that being the case, but I will be hopeful for a series nonetheless.

Looks like this will not be a new series or even mini-series, but more like a stand-alone movie. It will be around two hours long. It's a shame that we won't be getting a full adventure to see through many episodes, but still, a nearly two hour movie about our good friend Red is top-drawer. Top-drawer indeed.

It's been confirmed to be about two-hours long. While I do think I would have been more excited with a mini-series sort of thing, I'm cool with a 2-hour movie. I've been pretty excited ever since this thing was announced, and now that I know there's over an hour of footage being released all at once it just makes the whole thing that much more exciting.

This is either coming out in a dub, or I'll have to watch it with subtitles, but no matter freaking what, I will watch it.

I may have to break my no-subs rule a third time if this doesn't get dubbed because this looks pretty darn cool and interesting.

I wonder: will they be calling Red's rival Green or Blue? I'm so confused with him right now, particularly in the of FR/LG. I have people on one end saying he's Green and the girl is Blue and vice versa on the other end. So which is it?

I imagine the Japanese subbed version might refer to him as Green while an English dub would call him Blue to keep things consistent with his name in the respective original releases of the games. Just a guess though, it's hard to say.

Yeah, I think they are gonna call the rival Blue and if there's a female, Green when this gets dubbed (and I saw when because this isn't like we're watching some anime about magical Japanese schoolgirls here XP) It better be good if it's only an hour and a half long since the plot of R/B would need to be at least 2 hours if you consider having to go through all the trainers and the E4.

The Japanese Pokémon YouTube channel just added a few videos. They're all basically the same beginning and ending, just the middle few seconds is different.

It's now been confirmed that the English version will be available for free streaming online come November, and that it will be split up into four episodes. If you're going to watch the Japanese version and talk about it when that comes out first, use spoiler tags so that people waiting for the English one will not have everything spoiled for them.

I can't wait for the English version. :D Knowing me I'll watch the Japanese one first, and not know what is happening. xD But considering the huge fan base Pokémon has, some fans might be able to translate the Japanese version into one with English subtitles, before the English one comes out. c:

I'll actually probably do the exact opposite. What I tend to do is watch it with the dub first, since I prefer not having to read subtitles while trying to enjoy a show, then a couple days later I'd go back and watch the Japanese one with subtitles, just to see what was changed.

Though I'm not a big fond of the anime, I might give this one a chance since I read the manja series. Er, the first four...or five books?

I liked the anime up until Unova. In the others at least Ash didn't pretend to be cool when he wasn't. I'm hoping that X and Y will make him cool this time, he even looks older in some of the trailers, but that might be wishful thinking, and the fact that now he has teeth.

Besides that, this anime is clearly directed towards the people who played the first games, little kids wouldn't have done that. This anime is going to an entire different audience than the anime with Ash. I think that in itself guarantees that Red will grow up. Game Freak noticed when people started calling shinies "shinies", I'm sure they've noticed that older fans don't like Ash's permanent age.

I never liked the anime, too redundant and boring. This one, I think will be better. I wish they made it a series instead of a movie, though. It'd work better.

In a way it's a series, and in a way it's a movie. They've said that it's four different episodes, but it's also sounding like all four episodes will be released on the same day. I don't know for sure on that though. I do think that I'll like Pokémon Origins better than the normal anime, and the normal anime wasn't something I watched a lot, just saying, but it's something I'd watch every once in a while when I had nothing else to watch, hadn't seen it in a while, and felt like watching Ash Ketchum be a bumbling idiot.

It'll be weird though. If Red ages and Ash doesn't, which I'm sure he will, Pokémon is going to have a lot of explaining to do.

So wait, is it going to be a four episode mini-series (so movie length) or 4 30min episodes. I still can't wait, even though there is no Venusaur. T-T No love for the Venusaur.

Agreed, but maybe he has aged in the Kalos one... oh, it's just cause he has teeth.
Nah, I actually think he does look older, and maybe Ash's op pikachu won't lose to a level five starter Pokémon at the start of the season this time.

It'd be cool if Ash won the Kalos league or something and stayed as champion there forever. And then the next season they pick the main character from Gen VII as the MC for the anime and everyone's happy!
