@Kittimancy Brock nodded. "I've had the gift from a young age, and have trained my power enough to use any of the Tamahime's powers. Chi-hime and Moku-hime's powers come the easiest to me, since wood is related to earth."
An "Ooh" came out from Haku when he heard about Brock's power. Unlike Brock, Haku can't do magic with his music, so that's why he had to pick up some swordsmanship skills.
@Kittimancy "Observe..." With that, Brock strummed a few chords on the suji, creating bursts of Cheri blossoms with each chord. "Of course, if I'm in a romantic mood..." he smiled before playing the first few bars of a love song, creating a swirl of rose petals with every chord.
@Kittimancy "Of course, if there's something specific you want to do, you have to name the spell before you start performing." Brock cautioned. "Just playing any song you like and expecting something to happen won't work. You have to want the desired effect to happen."
Haku nodded, albeit still with awe from Brock's little showcase earlier. "Thing is, I don't even have any affinities to magic, so..." the young man mused.
@Kittimancy (If Haku were to discover that he DID in fact have magical affinity, which element(s) would make the most sense?)
@Kittimancy (Luckily, just playing something won't trigger a spell. You have to want the desired effect to happen, or name a specific spell. But before that, you first have to see what elements you have an affinity with--which Brock can check!)
@Kittimancy "Have you had an affinity reading?" Misty wondered. "Or have you discovered any affinities?"
@Kittimancy "Is it okay if I try and read you?" Brock asks. He had learned how to read magical affinities, and do it very well, boasting a 95% accuracy. But he would never perform a reading without his subject's consent.
@Kittimancy "Okay...in order to perform an affinity reading, I will need to attune my own magic to your heart." Brock explains. "This way, I can see which elements, if any, are attuned to you. If there's no magic at all, it will appear gray."
"Okay," Haku nodded again. He ushered Tuner and Belle away from him because he was afraid that they would disturb Brock's readings if they're too close. "I'm ready."
@Kittimancy "Here we go..." With that, Brock played a few slow chords, allowing him to focus his magic sensing ability. "Okay...I see blue...some faint cyan...and some lavender. That means you have some water and wind affinity. There's also some weak ice affinity by virtue of having a water affinity, but this can be trained."
Water... Wind... The newly-discovered magical affinities made Haku felt awkward. As far as he was aware of, he couldn't really do magic. Or... was it because he didn't realize it all this time?
