    Yes, I agree. It's just too funny!
    Bulbasaur: This one is good in theory, but once you look a bit deeper, you find it doesn't work as well as you would think. Most of the lines outside of the refrain don't really work at all with Bulbasaur, even though the refrain fits incredibly well. He WILL always get back up again if you knock him down, but since when is one of his main concerns getting his heart broken? After Ash proved himself to Bulbasaur in its debut episode, it has been one of his most loyal, trusting Pokémon. And "Before I put another notch in my lipstick case, You better make sure you put me in my place" is the opposite of anything Bulbasaur would say.
    Squirtle: It fits alright. Could be better if it showed Squirtle's loyal and kind side, as opposed to just the mischievous one, but as that is a major factor, it works better than Bulbasaur's.
    Charizard: Fits really well. Can't see much wrong with it.
    Butterfree: Already gave my opinions on the new one you chose for this, but just as a refresher, I really like it and think it fits beautifully.
    Pidgeot: Another one that works, and I can't think of a better alternative. It fits well since Pidgeot wasn't ever given a real personality, and the fact that it is helpful and got released are its only major traits. I wish we could find something like this but slightly less harsh on Ash, then it would be perfect, but it is pretty good as is.

    Also, couldn't help but notice that you missed a few. Namely, Kingler, Muk, Tauros (there are thirty, but you only need one), Lapras, and Primeape. Primeape and Tauros are somewhat understandable since they have very little screen time, but if you have a chance, these Pokémon need their songs eventually.

    Alright, then. You made some good points with Bulbasaur that I hadn’t really considered until now, so “Hit Me With Your Best Shot” is officially out. Though, ironically, I eventually realized the same problems with Heracross getting a song about toying with someone’s emotions and effectively friendzoning them...

    As for the other Kanto themes, they’re all staying. Muk and Lapras actually did have themes- “Toxic” and “Already Gone,” respectively- but as one was chosen specifically for pun factor and the other barely fit at all, they were cut and I narrowed it down to just the main 6 Pokémon.

    Now... to Johto. My personal opinions on each, excluding Heracross:

    Bayleef: I’ve got a better song in mind. “Satisfied,” anyone? (Or “Helpless”?)

    Quilava: Dear good god... this was hard...

    Totodile: MOST FITTING SONG IN JOHTO.

    Noctowl: It’s LITERALLY a golden owl. Though there could be a better song out there.

    Donphan: ...Scrap it and give it to Corphish. “Lose Yourself” doesn’t fit at all.

    Do you agree with any of these thoughts?

    This does fit Pidgeot better indeed.
    I agree with everything you said here except Bayleef. While I agree that Satisfied and Helpless both work better than Blank Space, Helpless states that the love is reciprocated, and Satisfied states that Bayleef would willingly back down for someone else who loves Ash. Both of these are false. This is the only opinion of yours I disagree with. Then again, keep in mind that this is your list, not mine, and you can choose whatever you think fits best.

    Okay, then. Meaning:

    "Grenade" is out, and "Against All Odds" is in.
    Meanwhile "Against All Odds" is out for Goodra, to be replaced by... this.

    "Lose Yourself" is also out, but I have no clue what the heck to replace it with.

    These are staying: "You Will Be Found," "Can't Stop the Feeling," and "Gold."

    Also, I'm going with "Helpless."

    Also, any thoughts regarding Donphan? I still can’t find a theme for him, since he’s just as hard as Heracross or Quilava were...

    As for Donphan, based on the article, its loyalty and playful nature are its key points. I don't really know of a good song for both, but I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to find one.

    As for Oshawott, I personally prefer the other one, but this fits too. Not enough for top ten though. Here's my top ten.

    I don't understand Buizel's at all. Greninja, Pidgeot, Totodile, and Corphish all get high ranking honorable mentions. Other than that, they all fit well, or at least decently for a couple of them. Gible, Snivy, Pignite, Staraptor, Hawlucha, Quilava, and more were all really good, but couldn't make the cut. Nice job!
