Pokemon Vs Digimon

I prefer the Pokémon games, but I totally love the digimon anime!
So, I guess Im a bit of both~

 

In my neighborhood, you weren't allowed to like both Pokémon and Digimon, it was one or the other. I'm not even joking. You would've been brutalized for liking both. Since I haven't seen much of Digimon personally, Pokémon is my obvious choice of which series I like better. I've been with the series since its inception, and I have no plans to ever leave it.

 

I like both however I've watched more Digimon than Pokémon so there is a preference for Digimon the anime compared to the Pokémon anime however the games completely best over Digimon.

I never understood why people hated on others for liking both. It doesn't affect that person...

 

I was hardly ever into Digimon.. saw maybe five episodes altogether, had one cassette tape for the first three episodes as a kid that I watched several times over and while they were memorable it wasn't anything I'd say I was addicted to. Just couldn't get myself into it since I already had Pokémon eating away at most of my free time. Heard the games were quite good but those I've never tried either? Wasn't there a petition opened months ago to get one of the newer Digimon games localized?

 

Pokémon = Best Games

Pokémon has been known for it's video games yes there is also the anime but the games seem more popular then the anime in general. The thing about the games is the fact that the games have a better story plot to it, graphics, and gameplay in general. Digimon picked up a little bit during their Digmon Worlds but their games are still not the top as Pokémon.

Digimon = Best Anime

Don't get me wrong I'm a huge Pokémon anime fan but the Digimon series is ten times better. Why? Think about it in the original Pokémon series up to now for the anime shows it's the same protagonist, new companions and the goal is to win every gym badge, and ETC while as for Digimon it's completely different. Heck there is an actual plot to Digimon which is what I enjoy the most about it. In Digimon you have new characters in each season heck sometimes the main cast would re-appear as a supporting cast like as an example, Digimon Adventure 02 and Xros Wars. Pokémon can be emotional at times but what makes Digimon more special is the fact that they kill off the main characters Digimon due to plot wise. It doesn't happen once but it happens throughout the Digimon series in general such as Xros Wars, Tamers, Adventure, and etc. In Pokémon this only happened maybe once in the 5th movie known as Heroes?

I can go on and on comparing these two but this post would be super long haha. But in general I love them both equally. They both share a strong point while the other lacks slightly. I grew up with both of them when I was younger, I love both Digimon movies & Pokémon movies in general.

@[member="Sheep"] yes there is a petition going on for that. Digimon games have gotten better over the years so I hope they bring them overseas. There is a new one coming out as well and it looks good.

 

I haven't been exposed much to Digimon when I was younger, so Pokémon all the way for me. I used to collect Digimon figurines that came together with ice cream back then and I've recently watched a few episodes thanks to my cousin who is still exploring various interests, so I do think that Digimon is cool but I just don't have that many emotional attachments to it as compared to Pokémon.
