Which Pokémon do you use frequently in your playthoughs? I quite often use Gliscor, it's a good Pokémon and one of my favorites too.

Depends on what game we're talking about.

In Fire Red and Leaf Green, I make sure to always catch a Ghastly and turn it into a Gengar. Gengars are one of my favorites, just due to it owning in-game.

In Heart Gold and Soul Silver, Ampharos is always on my team, just because I really don't like any of the other Electric Types you can get in the generation, it just really grew on me. I tried switching, but I just couldn't help but always have an Ampharos.

In Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald, I have to get a Flygon, just because it's a Flygon. I love the Ground/Dragon typing, and its design is just creative overall; it works complementary colors like a charm.

In Black, I made sure I had a Scrafty. Scrafty just kicks so much butt in-game.

In Black 2, it was my first and foremost goal to just get a Flygon, because I love them so much.

I actually try to use different Pokémon in my playthroughs than I have before. That said, my most common is probably Pidgeot. Its my flying type in all Gens it is available. Its a classic and I love having it (usually a her) with me :D

My current team in HeartGold consists of Quilava, Pidgeotto, Flaaffy, Murkrow, Furret, and Ponyta. (I haven't finished the game yet :'( )

My team in FireRed consisted of Blastoise, Pidgeot, Articuno, Charizard, Zapdos, and Ninetales. (Not too sure about that)

In Black, I have Dewott, Purrloin, Pidove, and three others I can't remember. :wry:

The only continual theme between my ingame teams is that they are often very different.

I enjoy playing under the capturing rules of Nuzlocke (sometimes I do the death rules too). Another thing I often do is having it so I can only use each Pokémon fight in a single Gym battle. This forces so much variety in my teams.

I also usually ditch the starter.

The only ones I can think of are Sandslash and Dragonite, I'll frequently use those two in playthroughs. Although recently I swapped out Sandslash for Nidoking in HeartGold just because I did use it so often before.

I always make sure I have a Typhlosion on my team. I breed them and make sure I have a Cyndaquil on standby to trade in whenever I restart a game.
Cyndaquil will always be my favourite starter. Accept no substitutes. :D

Gliscor now, as I always had a Gligar, and find it to be a solid Pokémon, and I've been using Arcanine since Red/Blue. Otherwise I switch it up all the time depending on where I'm at. I'm loving Lucario since I started Black 2 though.

I follow a specific theme throughout all the games, I only use Pokémon that was introduced in that region/generation, and I use a basic set to build my team from. For the leader I always stick with a bug type, then next in line is the grass starter (I never used the others), and then a flying Pokémon, followed by an electric Pokémon. The fifth Pokémon in my team is always water typed, and often I try to get ones that are unique or rare like Kabutops and Lanturn, while the final Pokémon is either Rock, Steel, or Dragon.

Gen 1 Beedrill, Venasaur, Fearow, Jolteon, Kabutops, Onix
Gen 2 Ariados, Meganium, Noctowl, Ampharos, Lanturn, Steelix
Gen 3 Ninjask, Sceptile, Swellow, Manectric, Walrien, Armaldo
Gen 4 Yanmega, Torterra, Staraptor, Luxray, Gastrodon, Bastiodon
Gen 5 Scolipede, Serperior, Braviary, Eelectross, Carracosta, Haxorus

I will be using Chespin in Gen 6, so I can't wait to see what it's evo-line will look like.

If available, I use Lucario, Froslass or dragonite. Sometimes all three :D They're a few of my favorite Pokémon.

There's always got to be a second generation Pokémon on my team. ALWAYS.

    Also Swalot.

I end up using these a lot: Golem, Staraptor, Luxray, Vaporeon, and Jolteon.

You'll start noticing some consistency here...

Platinum [I started a new run through about a week ago] - Grotle, Luxio, Staravia, Buizel
Soul Silver - Maganium, Flaafy, Umbreon, Pidgeotto, Larvitar, Sneasel
White 2 - Servine, Umbreon, Lucario [SPOT SAVED FOR THE ABSOL I WILL CATCH ON ROUTE 14! I'M VERY STUBBORN ABOUT SAVING IT A SPOT! I'll be naming it Tornado... xD]

I loaned my White game to my friend from across the street, so I can't exactly tell you my team there.
I named her Oshawott Neptune in the beginning of the game... She thought it was insane until it evolved into Samurott and now she keeps yelling at me about how much it fits. xD

I try to use different Pokémon in all playthroughs, but once I'm in the post game I'll take my Pokémon from previous games and use them too, along with my new good team, so each game I have a bigger and more varied team. I currently have a bit over 14 "team" Pokémon (Not all of them stick around through games, I've ditched a couple)

I usually try to mix it up and choose different Pokémon each time. But! I trained Sandslash multiple times (love Ground types, and Sandslash has always been super cool looking to me). Also trained Meowth many times too (favorite Pokémon at the moment). Gotta love a cute kitty with Payday and Pickup ability.

Hmm, well for me. I always tend to use Flygon and Gardevoir whenever I play Emerald and I also use Steelix and Pidegot when playing Leafgreen.

For Platinum I always have Lucario and Magmortar. For Soulsilver it's Mismagius and Lapras and for Black and White 2 it's Serperior and Stoutland.

Rhydon's been sticking to my teams for quite a while, or a Nidoking.
Besides that, the Pokémon are usually varied depending on what I feel like playing with.
Ampharos is quite a big favorite as well.

I usually have to have an eevee evolution of some kind (mostly glaceon). The only reason I haven't got one in the white replay I'm doing is because I'm using zoarark instead. Amphoros is mandatory, if I can have it. Flygon and either arcanine or ninetails make recurring appearances.

Always went with Gyarados, water is so OP in every game, plus he was available pre-national dex in most of them. I remember when I was about 9 before I knew about ATT vs Sp ATT I had a gyarados in GS with hydro pump fire blast thunder and hyper beam, wondering why he wasn't destroying everything. Praise was given to waterfall when it was introduced a gen later.
