I'm not sure where to put this so forgive me Poketubers! The name for, well, Pokémon Youtubers. Who are your favorites? Bonus points if you explain why. The only poketuber I really watch is Haydunn, but I occasionally check out shofu and JWittz. I think Haydunn is just a very laid back, funny guy. His competitive battles are actually really insightful, and he's pretty much a god in the NU tier. That, and his voice is really calming to me. What about you?
It's been years since I've consistently watched Pokémon content on YouTube. I remember I used to watch Thekingnappy (although that's a different story these days), shadypenguinn, and a couple of others that are escaping my mind.
King Nappy, no question. It's between him and Shadypenguinn because I'm in the middle of watching their Randomized RS Soul Link, and they're the only ones I have watched for Pokémon (only because I was planning a Randomized Nuzlocke for Youtube of my own), and King Nappy is hilarious. He portrayed May as someone obsessed with Starbucks as soon as she was introduced.
I used to be subscribed to a lot of poketubers a few months ago and have toned it down to just 3: Hoops and Hiphop, Truegreen7, and SupremeRK9s. They’re all really positive about Pokémon in general. As a kid, I watched soooo much of the Jwittz and Marriland. Oh, and as for competitive-based poketubers, I watch mainly WeedleTwineedle, The Garbodors, and Vizually. They’re all fairly small channels, but I love their content.
Oh man I used to watch a ton too! It started with the general playthough logs like the ones Marriland, shadypenguinn, thekingnappy, etc uploaded, and I also loved watching Poketubers lose it over competitive battles (GCPM, shofu, their squad), but nowadays I just only watch the old generation for the nostalgia and for their videos that are still good after all these years. There's a lot of accounts that don't put out Pokémon videos that often, but I prefer their videos now because they're more fresh with perspective (especially if you go watch ZackScottGames' playthroughs, he went from a complete (open-minded) noob to almost being at shadypenguinn's level of guidance and I respect him a lot for being to the point and helpful for newcomers like that).
I watch a bunch of them. From more competitive focused Pokétubers like aDrive and PokeMen to more casual ones like MandJTV and TheAuraGuardian, to Lockstin who while he isn't technically a Pokétuber, he basically is. And he is more of a hardcore casual. Looks into the lore and stuff. Also, PokémonRanyerBoy12 for anime stuff, on the rare occasion I care about the anime anymore. Kalos was awesome, but aside from that, I have no interest after Sinnoh.
I'm subscribed to a few dozen, but I only regularly watch a handful. Truegreen7's editing has gotten so much better recently. He went from mostly using gameplay footage, to animating every piece of Pokémon artwork that's shown on screen. If I had to choose my favorite videos from him, I'd go with his top 20 music tracks from each region and his Fakemon videos. Emperor Cubone isn't the most popular channel, but they almost always have solid scripts. I really hopes he grows more.
Pikasprey is one of my favorite poketubers (technically) that I've been keeping up recently. I'm a big fan of all the challenges he does and the amount of dedication he has to put himself through them. I haven't kept up with some of the older poketubers I used to follow like KingNappy and that crew since I just found their content extremely boring after watching the same playthough over and over. (I also heard there was drama and I ain't about that).
When it comes to Pokémon content on youtube, I don't normally look for specific channels or youtubers to watch, but I've noticed that a bunch of the videos that I enjoy and will click on when I see are done by the same couple of youtubers. The ones that come to my mind right now are Dobbs, Entity Mays, and Truegreen7. I think I just like their style, humor, and the way they explain their opinions.
