Pokken Tournament - Dark Mewtwo!?

    A new form of the most powerful Pokemon is approaching... a dark one.
    Earlier today Pokken Tournament arcade cabinets received an update which included the game's first Boss Fight, the boss in question being the ever-popular Mewtwo. But this Mewtwo isn't like the others; it is portrayed with orangle crystal-like structures portruding from various parts of it's body. It is referred as Dark Mewtwo (Black Mewtwo in the Japanese version), and it also Mega Evolves into Mega Mewtwo X, perfect for the fighting game.

    So, what does this mean? What will these "Dark Pokémon" have instore for us? Will other Pokémon get the treatment? Will it even be in main series games? Discuss below, Valorians, of your thoughts and predictions!​

    This seems like one of those amazingly epic, super cool kinds of mechanics that will never see the light of day in a main series game, like shadow Pokémon. In fact, who knows, this could actually be the updated version of shadow Pokémon. I think it's awesome, but I also think we won't be experiencing this awesomeness in our cartridge games.

    I love this look, the orange matches really well with the black, and the crystal spines and glowing tail are incredibly well detailed. Overall, I want this mewtwo to be making appearances elsewhere coughsm4shcough.

    It's never gonna happen, but we can dream, can't we?
    It'd be kinda weird to add Dark Mewtwo into Smash, kinda like a Dr. Mario version of Mewtwo (slower and stronger)?
    But the main question is, will it be playable, or even at least Mewtwo, in Pokken?

    Oh my god it looks amazing, what I don't like about these things is that they make such cool versions and then they make it exclusive for just one game. The design is really cool, the way the gems are pierced into his body, he looks very powerful too. Like Shiny said, it's sissapointing that we won't get them on the 3DS and future DS consoles, unless they make a Ds Pokken Game, which is highly unlikely. Overall it's a nice looking Pokémon and I like it!

    You know when I first saw the art over twitter I thought it looked kinda dumb but now that I see those two images this thing looks siiiiiiiiick.

    Dammit, I'll never be able to play that game :(
    Mewtwo looks absolutely sick. Those crystals make him look unique and powerful!

    Oh great, another form of Mewtwo.... I mean I think it looks frikin awesome, but do we seriously need another Mewtwo form?

    My reaction when I saw this was: I fainted of sheer awesomeness! I certainly love Mewtwo with all my heart, and I'm hoping that Mewtwo would be deemed a playable character - perhaps after finishing that story?

    That Dark Mewtwo looks... what can I say... beyond epic! But it does remind me of a certain character who is also as amazing called Dark Pit (Black Pit in Japanese - Co-incidence?),,,
