They are both boring and practically the same thing, have no use in battle and their evolutions aren't even that great. I don't see any reason to choose either.
I prefer Cascoon's eyes and coloration over Silcoon's and there isn't really any other difference between them, so Cascoon would definitely be my favorite between the two.
Cascoon because it evolves into Dustox, which I like better. But same Pokémon nonetheless. Trainer: Same Pokémon!?" Same Pokémon... same... evolution! Trainer: *Spaces out* SAME EVOLUTION!?" I like cascoon 'cause its in a pinkish shade and everyone knows I like pink Pokémon very much! Yes, its a fact that Beautifly looks super cute and I love cute Pokémon but silcoon isn't so cute for me. So, I'll go with cascoon.
Cascoon because it evolves into Dustox, which I prefer over Beautifly. Moths ftw! However if we arn't taking evolutions into account, I actually like Silcoon a bit more. It's design slightly more interesting than Cascoons.
