I don't know what this is about, but if it has PMD in the title, I'm voting for Fomantis and Alolan Vulpix. I also went with Charmander too, for classic's sake.

I Don't Know If This Is Going For Any PMD Story,But I Am In For Fomantis And Alolan Vulpix For New Entry Of The Series (I Just Hope Game Freak Will Release New PMD Game With Generation 7 Pokémon) And Treecko For Existing Entry (Especially For Explorer Of Sky/Darkness/Time). I'm sticking with mine too. I use the heck out of Riolu's line for Lucario, and I think I'm doing the same thing with Ralts as I am with Alolan Vulpix. I don't remember for sure. I would pretty much vote any Pokémon that hasn't been used in the PMD series as the possible human and partner Pokémon for originality. Unless it was Mareep or Abra for the same reasons as Alolan Vulpix and Ralts, being that I already planned to use them elsewhere.
Wew Fomantis! Not entirely sure what this is for but Fomantis is great. Voted for Riolu too because obvious bias. Although I did love having Riolu has a partner in sky.
