    Greetings,

Before I get to the point of this thread --
    • It is advised that you at least put some thought in your post. A couple of sentences pér would be desired.
    • Let us remain civil throughout this discussion. If you are unable to accomplish this, don't participate.
Verily well, let us move onward!

    Shoutbox:
I fail to understand the reason as to why the shoutbox has to be disabled during the time that the postfest is active. Ever thought of the possibility that some members only visit Lake Valor for the shoutbox? Enforcing forum activity is nice and all, but you shouldn't force people to participate by disabling the chatroom, Realize that these kind of actions could lead to members leaving your precious forum. Which, I am pretty sure, is not the intention of the aforementioned event.

    Post count:
What is with the obsession of needing to hit 10.000 posts within a day? On average there are 25-35 members who actually post in the forum, this means that they have to post ~300 times each. Assuming you put some thought in your post, and don't post for the sake of posting, this number will be nigh impossible to reach. Additionally, out of the members that frequent the site, not all of them use the forums actively, so the amount of posts pér person will be naturally higher than the previously mentioned 300. Take this, homework, and potential other priorities of users in mind, and your desire of reaching 10.000 posts within a single day becomes unrealistic. Feel free to do the math.

    Postfest Event:
Enforcing forum activity is by no means a bad thing, in fact, I quite like it. However, the event in itself was poorly executed. Members should be given the option to decline their participation in an event, instead of it being shoved down their throats automatically. At the end of the day, it is the community that is most important, and not some silly overall post count.

These are merely my opinions and views on the matter. Feel free to agree or disagree. Maybe you have something else to add? Whatever the case, I look forward to the potential responses that could ignite a discussion.

Only saying that the postfests are going to become a regular event around here and will only get more benefits. Nothing else is changing and the event is for fun. This is a forum primarily. If you're only coming here for the Shoutbox, then you're better off using Skype.
Participation is optional and your wording is full of malicious and rude jabs. Some subtle and some not so subtle. Work on that and your thread will be unlocked.
