Preference: Flying or Soaring

I personally like flying better than soaring due to how quickly go from place to place without a really long cutscene and sometimes running into other Pokémon. Flying is just easier to use in general especially if your secret base hunting, or picking berries, and all that jazz.
Flying is definitely a winner for me.

 

I like soaring around on my Latios much more than flying. It doesn't take that much longer than a normal use of fly, and you don't have to worry about having a Pokémon with Fly in your party. It's extremely handy, extremely fun, and much better than flying.

 

If you want to go from point A to point B, use Fly.
If you want to fly, go for the soaring instead.

They both do pretty much the same, but they work differently nevertheless. Also, if you don't have a Pokémon capable of learning Fly on your team, you'll still be able to soar, so that's a plus

 

Flying: requires one moveslot (and sometimes a team slot) on the move Fly, and can only take you to landmarks and cities.
Soaring: uses a Key (able to be on the assignment slot) Item, with no impact on your party, and can take you wherever you want to go and more.

Yeah, soaring is the more convienient option for me. Especially since I frequently need all of my team slots available, and Fly is not conventionally forgettable.

 

IMO fly is faster. Whenever I use the Eon Flute I usually end up flying around in circles because I have the worst time with directions.

Unless I want to visit the mirage spots, I always stick with fly.

 

Not counting any of the spots that are only accessible by soaring, I much prefer flying. I will say this though: They should've made it to where you can fly out of Mauville City. The deceiving atmosphere makes it look like you can fly out, but nope...

 

whilst flying is really quick, with soaring I don't need a Pokémon with fly in my party. Furthermore, the music is just too good. I soar mainly for the music

 

I like Flying. I have been flying since 1st gen, and I will keep flying to the end of the times. Also I don't like the extra time that Soaring takes xD

 

I like flying better overall since I'm almost always in a rush when needing to change locations.. but soaring is wonderful for being immersed in a bigger and more beautiful view of Hoenn despite how tiny it is, hah. They're both fantastic in their own ways.

 

Honestly, both have their uses. Flying helps me get to routes Secret Bases/berry trees/Trainers/Pokémon I want faster, and soaring gives me a breathtaking view of Hoenn, lets me access places I can't access through any other means, and can be done even without a flier/the Latis in your party. Plus, the music that plays is really beautiful <3 Gonna have to go with soaring for those reasons; it's one of the best additions to ORAS.

 

Even though it takes that little bit more time i love being able to fly around hoenn, never gets old

 

Soaring, hands down. Its nice and relaxing and, while its hard for me to find town sometimes, I like the feeling of it over flying. Ontop of that, it gives me space to have a more useful move than Fly on my Flygon. Unlike how Fly takes up a move spot (permanently if you want to fast travel), you don't even need to have Latias/Latios in your party in order to soar on them! Its not the fastest, most efficient, way to travel but hey... Its fun, its relaxing and it feels more natural.

 

Soaring is so great, it looks amazing and I have the habit of not having fly on my team, so I don't have to go to the pc to switch my flying Pokémon every single time. So yeah, soaring it is.

 

In terms of quickness, flying is obviously the way to go.
However, I still love soaring because of how awesome it is. You can't say it isn't cool. You'd be lying to yourself

 

I prefer soaring since I don't actually have a flying Pokémon in my team right now. With Soar, I get to travel to places faster without the need of a slot being taken up by the Pokémon used for flying.

 

I like soaring, you can land on routes and stuff so it's much easier, plus you can get to the hidden places too :>

 

No competition, it has to be soaring. I love soaring around the region, seeing how beautiful it really is. Doing it in the evening is also really great. I'm also a huge fan of the music that plays when you soar too. Please keep this feature in future games. We don't need HMs!

 

I Soar. Because, one, I don't need Fly; two, the 3D is awesome; and, three, Mirage Spots are everywhere!

 

I've used Soaring a ton, and I definitely prefer that. Even if it does take a bit longer, I love seeing Hoenn from an aerial view like that. I still use Fly if I need to go to a bunch of places quickly, but I do prefer Soaring.
