Promotional Poster Mystery

While the uniform is similar to Team Galactic, I can only really see this as the Aether Foundation as there would be no point to bring in Team Galactic. Gens 5 and 6 got the most cameos so I would see Team Plasma since Cloress had a cameo in Sun and Moon. Also, the head shape of the top right figure reminds me of the Shadow triad's hair.

 

Huh... you know, it really does kinda make sense. There wouldn't really be a point to have Team Galactic in USM though, to be honest. Especially since Colress has already been seen in Alola, and would seem to have experience with the fusion idea... if anything, it might be an Aether redesign, or a new character?

Also did anyone else notice the fact that Lillie is holding a Poké Ball in her hand? That kinda makes me wonder... maybe Lillie will have some Trainer status in USM? Are so many fans' wishes coming true???

 

Definitely looks like Aether Foundation peeps on the top left. Perhaps we will have three rivals in these games if Lillie uses her own Pokémon too!

I think it's neat how everything is set above of the star eyes figure thing that forms when you put the two game covers together.

I personally think it's simply an Aether Foundation redesign. Looking closely, one of the figures looks like Faba to me. Only time will tell I guess.

Also this poster seems really... serious for some reason?? I'm lowkey hoping this is hinting at a darker storyline, as this is predicted to be an alternate timeline.

 

Yeah that looks like Aether Foundation uniforms to me. Just a lot of extra buttons and some rippled padding.
Love how serious everything and everyone looks, even Lillie's in on the action. Oooh will she have Alolan Vulpix like in the anime?? There was a cutscene in one of the trailers that involved a Alolan Vulpix on a Aether/doctor's table..

 

Yeah, it looks interesting and those figures provide maybe a bit of foreshadowing of what's to come. This has me excited especially when @WolfeyStar was thinking that this will be an intense and darker storyline.

 

I mean, maybe the whole 'giant threatening rip in the sky' has something to do with space and time...I don't know, just with the Ultra Wormholes and stuff, it certainly SEEMS like Team Galactic might have a hand in some stuff. However, it would break tradition, so I think they might make a cameo, but won't be the Huge Evil Main Team.

Before I get into talking about what the poster means, can I just say that that art looks awesome! Everything about it screams that our characters are up for a fight.

I find myself leaning towards those mystery characters being an Aether Foundation redesign. It makes sense, seeing as it's an alternate universe and all. I don't really see any reason for other evil Pokémon teams to be brought into USUM, but you never know!

 

There's this theory going around the Pokémon reddit that in this reality the protags arrive more a year (or maybe he even more) later than the original Sun and Moon. If that's the case, then I can see why Lillie is in her "Z form" already by the time we get to Alola; she had to defend Nebby on her own (Or maybe with Gladion's help). Either way, it looks like this story is gonna be a lot more intense. We got some sci fi space knight vibes going on here!

In First Pokémon USUM Direct, Many Reaction Video Has One Common Thought That It Is Alternate Story Like Pokémon Diamond.
