When making lines in your art, do you push the lines (draw away) or do you pull them (draw towards yourself)? Do you do both? I do a mixture of both! Especially if I'm working with curves. I feel like its a matter on what kind of line you're trying to do.
I never thought about this before. It appears that I tend to pull rather than push; and my linework looks much better when I'm pulling.
Yeah I don’t think it’s something most artists think about haha. I definitely notice it most with circles
I do both, depending on the angle of the line and where it is in relation to the line I drew before it. I also use lines for shading when I draw, which usually go back and forth diagonally from the bottom left and top right.
I do both but I tend to favour pulling slightly over pushing. My lines always come out smoother that way.
I tend to pull, but I'm alright with pushing as well. Though I most prefer drawing sideways for some reason. It's just that I'm more capable of moving my arms sideways rather than forwards/backwards.
I think I prefer sketching while pushing and with actual lineart, I prefer to pull. It is actually kinda weird.
I do both, I dont think I have a preferred way to be honest! I've never thought about it though! Really interesting question, I'm going to have to ask my other arty friends at somepoint!
